Five on Friday 11/15

Happy Friday!  Technically, it's Wednesday morning as I'm writing this (you'll see why in a minute) but so far it has been a great week and it's only about to get better!

1) Nebraska- The reason I'm writing this post on Wednesday is because as you read this on Friday, I am in Lincoln, Nebraska!  My girlfriends and I are headed to Lincoln to visit our friend Alex (who just got engaged!) to reunite and celebrate for the weekend!

Move out day after college graduation 2010

2) Giving Back- If you missed my post on Tuesday, please check it out!  As we enter the holiday season, it's so important to remember those in need.  I've listed lots of easy ways to get involved and give back!

3) Kisses from Katie- I am halfway through this book and LOVING it.  It may have been what really encouraged my desire to give back this year.  What Katie, a twenty-something year old, is doing in Uganda is truly amazing.  Everyone should read this book.  It would make a great Christmas gift, too!

4) Volleyball- Nick and I and some friends play in an indoor volleyball league and this week playoffs began.  We won our first two games and are headed to the Championships next week!  The best team in our league shockingly lost this week so we might actually have a chance to win the whole thing!

5) Snow- We received our first official snow on Monday.  It was a gloomy day with a combination of rain/sleet/snow falling all day.  I had the day off work so I barely left the couch :)  I think we only got about a half an inch of snow but it has been so cold this week that the snow has actually stuck around!  I guess winter is here to stay.

At least Chicago is pretty in the snow!

Next week, the holidays officially begin around here - that means my Christmas music is turning on and my tree is going up!  Have a great weekend, everyone!

  5. Hope you're having so much fun in Lincoln! A friend of mine has read that book & it really inspired her, too, to do something big. I really need to pick up a copy. Have a great weekend celebrating!

  6. I've never heard of that book but just reading the synopsis really makes me think, "what am I doing with my life???" It does sound like a good book for some gifts too :) and ah the weather is so crazy I think it's warm in Chicago again-- Baltimore plays there today so we keep hearing about the storms/weather there! Hope your girls trip was fun!!
