Moscow Mules

I think I have a new favorite drink.  It all started when I recently discovered ginger beer.  Not so good on its own, but mixed with vodka and lime? Yum yum.

Moscow Mules were huge in the 1950's and 60's so I bet your grandparents have enjoyed a few!  They were famously served in copper glasses although I'm not sure the reasoning behind that.  The drink went pretty much extinct for the last few decades but it seems to be making a comeback now.  Since trying my first Moscow Mule this fall, I've noticed a few bars around Chicago that list the drink on their menu.

A couple weeks ago, we made our first homemade "Moscow Mules".  They were delish and provide a nice alternative to the flood of cider, pumpkin and cinnamon drinks that come with fall!

Ingredients
Ginger Beer
Vodka
Lime Wedge

This was the ginger beer we used.  You can find ginger beer in the pop/soda aisle. And just to clear up any confusion: ginger beer does not actually have beer in it!  It is alcohol free.

Enjoy!

**If you can't find ginger beer, you can substitute ginger ale.
**If you aren't a fan of vodka, you can substitute rum and make a "Mobile Mule"!

    1. I'd never heard of ginger beer before this but it is so good! Tastes similar to ginger ale if you've tried that.. but more of a stronger, sharper taste. Let me know what you think if you try it!
