Thursday, January 23

The sun!  It's a rarity in Chicago in January so I'm always thankful to soak up some of that Vitamin D (while hoping I'm getting a tan).

Friday, January 24

I mentioned last week that my computer was about to bite the dust... and on Friday, it did.  Definitely not thankful for that.  I was freaking out when I saw this screen because I hadn't finished backing up all of my files.  I swear it was an act of God, but I figured out a way around this screen and my computer held out long enough for me to finish saving my pictures!  Beyond thankful that I was able to get some really important stuff saved.  After that, the computer was totally dunzo.

Saturday, January 25

Thankful for a date night out with some friends.  We had dinner at Carson's which was participating in Chicago's Restaurant Week.  Sooo much food and so much fun!

Sunday, January 26

I was at work on Sunday when I got this text that made me laugh out loud.  Nick and I got new phones on Saturday and previously Nick had an Android.  Whenever I would send him emoji's, they would just show up as blank boxes on his phone and it would drive him crazy.  I was so happy when he decided to switch to an iPhone on Saturday - this was his first emoji text he sent me!

Monday, January 27

January 27th was our six month anniversary!  I definitely didn't remember that until today (fail) but I am thankful that on our anniversary, we got to have lunch together.  Can't beat Panera!

Tuesday, January 28

On this day, I got my 100th GFC follower!  I cannot believe that so many people want to read what I have to say everyday and I love you all for taking the time to always leave the sweetest comments.  I'm so thankful for each and every one of you!

Wednesday, January 29

Thankful for my Cabin socks that Nick gets me every year for Christmas.  They are the only things keeping my feet warm in these negative temps - I am wearing them 24/7!

  2. A few years ago our computer crashed and we lost ALL of our pictures together (that weren't printed) of Robert and I dating/engaged and then some of Collin, too. I was/is awful. Since then, we're a little OCD about backing up our files. So, I recently switched from an Android to an iPhone and the emojis were super exciting to me, too. :) And now I want a cinnamon crunch bagel :)

  19. Wooo hooo! 100th GFC. Of course, you really are entertaining, kind and a good cook so that is no surprise there. And I love the text message you shared with all of us. It's cute and sweet he did that.

  20. Congrats on 100 followers!

I'm so relieved you got your pics backed up-I waited until I had about 1500 on my phone once and then realized if something happened I'd lose them all. So glad I backed them up. I know-first world problems, but some of the pics were so precious, I would have been heartbroken to lose them.

  24. Oh man that sucks that your computer crashed. I'm glad you were able to back it up. I need to add that to my to do list.

Hey I see me in that GFC badge! haha. Congrats hun! That's awesome.

I love iPhones especially the emoji's. My guy does not have an iPhone and I wish he did so I could use them.

    Thanks for hosting!

  25. The blue screen of death! It happens to all of us, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating. You can take solace to the fact that you had already backed up files prior to the disaster, and that you were able to save some of those that were not backed up when it happened. It's a good thing your computer showed signs of pre-crashing, so that you were able to do some file backups before it gave up the ghost. How is it now, btw?

  26. That seems like a great week for you. Except for your computer problem, which was quite stressful. It was a good thing that you finished saving all of your pictures before it totally crashed. I just hope you had some backups of your other files as well. Just to be sure that whatever happens to your computer, your pictures and other files are safe.
