Liebster Award

Two of my lovely blogging friends - Bella at Dateless in Dallas and Nina at Flowers in My Hair - have graciously awarded me the Liebster Award in the last couple of weeks!  I've only been blogging for a few months but have already fallen in love with it and with all of the sweet friends I've made.  I feel like some of you know more about what's going on in my life than my "real life" friends do!  I've combined Bella and Nina's questions so don't worry, it won't take you an hour to read this :)

1) What are your top three favorite movies?
This is hard because I'm much more of a TV watch-er than movie watch-er.  I mean I never even saw a movie in the theaters in 2013!  My three favorites movies (in no particular order) would have to be Father of the Bride, White Christmas and Forrest Gump.  I stick to the classics :)

2) What did you like most about high school?
I loved being able to see my friends everyday.  As an adult, everyone has such crazy schedules and it's so hard to find time to all get together.  We really took for granted the fact that we all lived in the same city, were on the same schedule and had tons of free time to spend together.

3) Where is the next place you would like to travel?
I'm technically going to Florida next for spring break but I would LOVE to visit London next.  I'm dying to plan a trip there.  I'm hoping in 2015!

4) What is your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is definitely losing someone close to me.  I get so anxious thinking about how I would handle losing my husband or my dad a lot.  Trust me, I know it's stupid to worry and I try to put all my faith in God but this is definitely something I am terrified of.

5) What is your favorite thing about blogging?
I have two favorite things about blogging!  First, it's being able to document my life.  Like, I love that I took the time to write down everything about our honeymoon trip to Hawaii because I wouldn't remember those little details otherwise.  And second, as I mentioned before, it's the friendships I have created with other bloggers.  That has been something so unexpected but so special!

6) Do you have kids?  If not, do you want kids?
No kids yet but we definitely want them in the future!  We want to spend the next couple of years enjoying being married, traveling and doing on our own thing before we even approach that topic :)

7) If you had a gallery wall, what would be on it?
Pictures, pictures and more pictures!  I love taking pictures and capturing memories of even the littlest things.

8) How has 2014 treated you so far?
2014 has been amazing!  Nick and I have gotten to spend a lot of time together and we are already making a lot of progress on our goals for the year - we have paid off one student loan in full in January and have quite a few vacations booked for the year!

9) If you could go back in time, what would you tell your 16 year old self (in one sentence or less)?
I lost my mom the week before my 16th birthday so that year was one of the hardest I've had to experience.  I would just tell myself that it really will all be okay - even though the majority of days it sure didn't feel like it would ever be okay again.

10) What is your favorite holiday?
I feel like my favorite holiday changes often but at the moment I would have to say it is 4th of July.  Summer time, the beach, hot dogs on the grill, friends and family.. how amazing does that sound right now?

11) What is your favorite book?
"My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult!  I've read it 3 or 4 times.  So good!

Thank you both again for the nomination!  Everyone go check out Bella and Nina, I love their blogs!

  1. Love these and I can definitely understand #4....I have such irrational fears, they almost paralyze your thoughts!! Really hope you make it to London next year!! We are in the same boat with kids...enjoying being married right now and then in the future we'll get to enjoy our children!

  2. Father of the Bride is one of my favorite movies too! I worry about losing a loved one often too. I thought it was because I was a nurse and I see other people's family members die daily but I guess I'm not alone! My Sister's Keeper is a great book! I liked it so much better than the movie.

  9. Great post! I love learning more about the ladies behind my favorite blogs :))
Can't wait to see pictures from all of your vacations! We don't really have anything planned this year (impossible since I'm in grad school) so I will have to live vicariously through yours! ;))

  16. I would absolutely LOVE to be able to see my best friends every single day! Bring back that part of high school, for sure! I took it for granted at the time and it's definitely much harder to stay in touch as an adult!

  17. You can't go wrong with Father of the Bride :) I get sucked into watching it every time it's on TV and now I tease my husband that he'll act the same way when Olive gets married. We did a lot of traveling and enjoying our couple time together before we had a baby and I'd HIGHLY recommend it.

  19. I really thought you had been blogging for a long time! You are so good at it. I wish I would have started sooner. It really must be so nice to see your life as you document it through the years.
Don't feel badly about your fear. I have that fear also because I lost my dad and I think that's probably common with people that have lost a loved one.
4th of July is not my favorite, but the way that the weather is right now-I welcome 4th of July with open arms.
