Favorite Sunless Tanning Products

I love summer, that is no secret.  However, the beginning of swim suit season can be a little rough, thanks to being bundled up for the last 6 months.  I've officially given up tanning beds because skin cancer is no joke buuut I can't head out to the beach in all my winter-paleness-glory because I'll blind people with my white skin.  So thank the Lord for sunless tanning products - they're a lifesaver.

Today I'm sharing my favorite sunless tanners - and I know most of them are pricey but I just cannot get past the smell of the drugstore brands!  I've yet to find one at the drugstore that doesn't make me stink.  If you have a winner, please let me know :)

Sunless Tanning

Tan Towels are the most amazing thing!  They are foolproof - you just wipe it all over your body and you are good to go (after washing your hands).  No such thing as streaks with these guys.  If you are a self tanning newbie, I would recommend starting here.

St. Tropez is like the holy grail of sunless tanners.  For a good reason, too - they provide an even, natural looking tan.  I really like to use the bronzing lotion specifically made for facial skin so it doesn't dry or break out your face.

If you need super fast color, St. Tropez One Night Only has got you covered. It provides an instant tan that washes off in the shower.  I was worried that it would rub off on anything since it's meant to be temporary color - but it doesn't!  It acts just like regular St. Tropez but you'll see the color fall off in the shower.   Make sure and use a dark colored towel when you get out.

Oh, and also purchase the St. Tropez mitt, it makes application super easy!

Perfekt is a tinted "body perfection gel" that acts like a tanning primer on your skin.  It evens out skin tone and fills in fine lines while providing a shimmery color.  I love using this stuff on my legs for going out at night in the summer.

What are your favorite sunless tanners?

  2. Great pro-tip on the dark colored towel after the St Tropez temporary. I could see that being a game changer. I've never used any of these!

  3. I've never used sunless tanners, but I'm so pale right now I might invest in one soon!

  4. I am TERRIFIED of sunless tanners...like straight up scared that i'll look orange!! I've heard nothing but great things about St. Tropez so I might just try that out, but not before a big event lol!! Thanks for sharing your picks!

  5. Dublin has made me beyond pale! I'm going to need one of these prior to our vacation!

  6. I used L'Oreal sunless tanner around my wedding because my stepsister was afraid if she spray tanned me (she has an esthetician business) that I'd turn orange. The sunless tanner worked wonders on my white white body so I keep a stash around.

  7. I had to sit out todays Glam Series, I have tried several but I just never have good luck. I have the St. Tropez foam, and I'm going to play with it again this season. I just always have problems around my ankles and feet then I'm embarrassed :( Now I want to try the Tan Towels!

  8. My sister's wedding is next month, so I think I'm going to try St. Tropez for a little color. Don't want to look like miss albino!

  9. There really are few things as wonderful as Lake Michigan summers!! I REALLY need some self-tan right about now but am always sooo awful at applying it that it ends up not really being worth it. Last year I tried the bare minerals faux tan and it hardly gave me any color which was annoying because it's such a pain to apply! I keep hearing really great things about the St. Tropez, which is tempting!

  10. Wahoo St. Tropez...I worked for them in their marketing department when we first moved to NYC but have had to take some time off work to focus on my health with Crohn's Disease...I absolutely love their products. The one night only is one of my faves and their gradual tan plus firming :) SO glad you love the applicator mitt it's the secret key to perfection :) Xx.

  12. Oh I love self tanners! Perfekt is one of my favorite lines how did I not know about this tanner? It looks like it would be perfect for the legs! I got those tan towels in a birchbox and really loved them....need to repurchase!

  13. I have to start on the self tanning again for my poor white, white, skin. I love Tan Towels! Have you ever tried Fake Bake? It's another pricier one but I love it! I think I am going to pick up some St. Tropez to try next!

  14. I can't believe how much I used to fake-n-bake in tanning beds in high school and college. My biggest advice is for everyone to get a check up at the dermatologist once a year to stay on top of any new marks that could be cancerous.

Because of this, I love self tanners and yes St. Tropez is THE BEST! You get the look without the skin damage :)

  15. I want to try those tan towels! I saw them in ULTA but wasn't sure exactly how they work. How long does the tan usually last?

  16. I SO want to try tan towels. We have a wedding to go to in a few weeks and these legs are far from glowing (unless a nice ivory shade counts)!

  17. Sunless tanner is a godsend for my pale skin. I guess I should have used some before going to the beach last summer when a woman stopped me and said "you're the whitest person on the beach!" I wanted to say "yah well you're the fattest!" Because she was but that's another story! I'm dying to try those tan towels!

  18. I must confess-we have a tanning bed I hop into to get a base. =( I know, it's so bad for you, but it's so relaxing! I try to use it sparingly. I will have to try some of these self tanners!

  19. I gave up tanning beds at the beginning of spring last year and didn't have good luck last year but heard wonderful things about St. Tropez. I think I will give it a try. And soon!

  20. I feel like I have to gradually use this stuff because one day I'll be pale and the next I'm tan and it's obvious it's fake! I bought a spray tan can from bath and body works and used to make Ian give me a spray tan lol!

  21. My freaking 15 year old brother in law just found out that he had a cancerous mole! So scary...it's enough to make a girl paranoid about every freckle on her body!
