April Bucket List

How fast did March fly by?!  I'm so happy to see April and so ready for everything it brings - warmer temps, blooming flowers, longer days, spring break and even those April showers :)   In keeping with my monthly tradition, here is my bucket list for April...

+ As I'm sure you've all heard by now, we are heading to Florida this week!  So, so, so, so excited.  I haven't seen my family since Christmas so it will be wonderful to spend a week of fun in the sun with them!

+ I've always loved Easter.  This will be the second one that Nick and I have spent together (before we each went home to our respective families) and we've already started some traditions of our own.  We will do church in the morning followed by a big breakfast at home with some friends.  While our church is pretty casual, Easter to me means a new springy, patterned dress  - Lilly Pulitzer always immediately comes to mind.  I've been on the lookout and so far I'm in love with this one.  Since I gave up cheese and Nick gave up desserts for Lent, we will be finishing off the day with pizza and brownies for dinner :)

+ While we were visiting Nick's family back in February, we were watching a show on the Food Network that was featuring the Chicago restaurant, Black Dog Gelato.  I was practically drooling just watching the segment - they serve flavors like caramel sea salt, cucumber rosewater sorbet and blueberry french toast.  Now that the weather is finally turning, we plan on making our way up to the little shop and trying it out for ourselves!

The chocolate cake and salted peanut gelato sandwich

+ Good old spring cleaning.  It just needs to be done.  This would be Nick's solution ;)

+ Last fall, I read Unglued by Lysa Terkheurst and I loved it so much that as soon as I finished, I bought her book Becoming More Than A Good Bible Study Girl.  Cue the holidays and life got so busy that I never had the chance to start reading it.  The book has been living on my nightstand for months now and I finally want to make the time to read it.  I highly recommend any of Lysa's books!

What do you have planned for April?

  17. I had never been into Lily Pulitzer because I always thought the prints were a little too busy for me, but recently I actually looked at the website and was obsessed with the majority of the things and spent way too much time on the website! I love the dress you posted! That gelato sandwich looks like the most delicious thing I've ever seen. I can't wait to see what you guys think once you try it out! Unglued sounds like such a good book- I think I'll add it to my to-read list! And sooo jealous of your Florida vacation! I can't wait to hear about it!
