Thankful Thursday: Week 19

Life is so precious.  Two families lost their little boys this week and although I don't know either of these families, it has really affected me.  Teddy Fish, the sweet one year old fighting Menkes Disease, lost his battle on Monday.  I have followed Teddy's story for the last few months and when I saw the post on Instagram, all I could do was cry.  The very next day, I learned of an adorable 3 1/2 year old named Ryan who was killed last Friday after chasing his frisbee into the street.  Can you even imagine?  Although I don't have kids yet, I can't begin to fathom what these families are going through.  So much heartbreak and so much pain.  Life is SO unfair sometimes.  I hate that it takes tragedies like these to make us really step back and appreciate our lives and everyone in them.  We should focus on these things every single day... something that I've been trying to work on this year and the reason behind/purpose of doing Thankful Thursday each week.  To step back and just revel in everything I have to be thankful for.  To not let anything to taken for granted and to focus on how blessed I really am.  I sincerely hope you'll consider joining us today.  And please don't forget to say a little prayer for both of these families that lost their precious sons.

Thursday, May 1

My friends and I have a tradition that whenever one of us gets engaged, we buy the lucky girl Mindy Weiss' Wedding Planner & Organizer.  I used it to plan my wedding and it was lifesaving!!  Such a helpful book, I can't recommend it enough.  I picked up our 3rd copy to give to our friend, Erica!

Friday, May 2

My first day using my new Olivia & Joy bag!  I'm in love.  (Ignore the messy apartment)

Saturday, May 3

Such a great day with friends.  I'm always thankful for this group!

Sunday, May 4

I hopped online to answer some emails and realized that I had hit 200 GFC followers!  You guys are awesome :)

Monday, May 5

My friend Shannon just got a new puppy and he is THE cutest thing ever.  Murphy is quite the ladies man already!

Tuesday, May 6

When these trees bloom all over the city every year, it makes me so happy.  Spring is finally here!

Wednesday, May 7

So. Much. Goodness.  I've been wanting to get some mason jars for a while now but we have NO storage space and of course you have to buy them in packs of like 12.  When I saw these little mason jar-like glasses with handles at Target yesterday... sold.

  1. So, so true to not take anything for granted and unfortunately it's not until a tragedy happens that we realize this. I'm too working on it and being grateful for each moment even if it's the kids fighting or a mess to pick up. I couldn't imagine what these families are going though, my heart hurts for them so much.

Love all of the things you're thankful for. That purse looks fab on you and congrats to your friend on her engagement and to you for 200+ followers - you go girl!!! xo

  3. My heart hurts for those families.. It is such a tragedy..

Thanks for showing the wedding planner you used.. I didn't think I needed one but I just may have to get one.. This wedding stuff is sort of stressful..

It has been so hard to gain followers on GFC.. I have been at 40 for a long time.. Bloglovin seems to bring more followers for me anyway.. Any idea why?

    1. YES! Pick up this wedding planner! It was my life line while I was planning mine. And I am no help with the Bloglovin vs. GFC. I never go on Bloglovin.. it's so bad. I need to start using that more!

  6. Amen to your opening paragraph - my prayers are with both families. I have been hurting for Ryan's family for a couple days.

On a happier note, you had quite the week! Your outfit with your new bag was perfection, and why is everybody getting puppies?! My husband and I have puppy fever, and these photos are not helping. :)
