Makeup Made For Traveling

Happy Wednesday!  If you hadn't noticed -- the blog got a little face lift! A few things are still under construction so bare with me.. but overall, I'm totally in love!  I cannot say enough good things about 17th Avenue Designs -- Kate is reasonably priced, was super fast in responding to my questions and her detailed installation instructions couldn't have made my life any easier.  If you're looking to do some sprucing up, make sure to check her out!

Summer = travel.  Not necessarily huge extravagant trips (although those are awesome -- I wish I could do Hawaii every year) but we all take plenty of little weekend trips to lake houses or the beach or the mountains over the summer.  And who wants to cart their entire makeup collection around with them each weekend?  Not me.  I've been focusing on putting together a little travel sized makeup collection over the last year -- here's what I've got so far!

I've talked about this before and I'll probably keep talking about it... this is the perfect travel product because it's a three in one.  You've got your bronzer, highlighter and blush all in one one little container -- with a mirror!  Everything you need for on the go.

I despise taking liquids while traveling by plane because there's nothing worse than opening your luggage to find everything soaked.  Doing laundry while on vacation does not sound like fun to me.  These wipes eliminate the need to bring eye makeup remover -- they will remove even the most waterproof of eye products (yep, even this stuff.)

I'm notorious for carrying about a minimum of 15 lip products in my bag at.all.times.  The only exception is on vacation because I don't want to be weighed down and I'm usually carrying a crossbody bag which limits my options.  These lipstick duo's by Bite are the best because they are super small and provide you with a day and a night color -- for a really reasonable price.  Not to mention they're the creamiest lip product I've ever tried!

I love this stuff and use it every single day but it's also great for traveling -- leave all of those messy liquid foundations back at home!  It provides sheer coverage and SPF 15 so it's perfect for beach vacations when you don't want to look too done up.

RT brushes are awesome.  They are high quality but with a low price tag and hold up forever.  This set includes a powder, foundation and eyeshadow brush.  I just grab these and my Bare Minerals brush and I'm all set for a trip away.

I also make sure to stock up on my favorite products in travel size -- almost any product you can think of is offered in a mini version (usually found near the check out at Sephora or Ulta.)  When I try out a new product for the first time, I typically buy the travel size since it's cheaper.  If I fall in love with the product, I'll go back and get the full size and toss the small one right into my travel makeup bag!

Ps. tomorrow I will be co-hosting Thoughts for Thursday with the lovely Annie and Natalie!  Hope you'll join us :)

  9. Love the new look on the blog!

I've been eyeing the flushed palette for a while. Is the bronzer matte? That would be the perfect little package to bring for blush, highlight, and contouring (considering it is matte).

  14. LOVE the new design and your new pic! I am dying to try out some Bite products! I used to want to pack all my makeup but the last year or so I have really cut back and take products that multitask for sure. My Lorac Pro palette has been the one thing that ALWAYS goes :)

  17. Ooh! Love the new look!! Great idea to create a travel makeup bag too! I have way too many liquids and would love to cut those down. I'm definitely trying those eye makeup remover wipes. I can never seem to find any that will actually remove my eye makeup. I also tote around 15 lip products at once! haha. It's an addiction.

  25. I love the colors you used for your blog. Looking very pretty. I'm a sucker for all things Urban Decay, and that flushed palette just so happens to be the next thing I'm going to buy. Bare Minerals Matte powder is my go to. It's my fave! Never heard of the Bite Due, but I need it! Lol

  28. I'm so disappointed with myself for not knowing that Tarte makes eye makeup remover wipes! I need to pick those up the next time I'm at Sephora.
And isn't Bite Beauty the best?? I am so obsessed with their products right now. I'm going to Sephora on Friday night with my SIL and I can predict now that I will be spending a pretty penny there!
Half of my brush collection is RT brushes. They seriously are the best besides Sigma brushes.
