Confessions

It's been a while since I've had an ol' fess sesh here on the blog.  So why waste any time?  Let's get right to the good stuff!

I confess that I'm having a serious love affair with Pinterest right now.  I go in waves of love and boredom and right now I'm straight up obsessed.  I've been wasting way too much time pinning recipes I'm never going to make, clothes I'm never going to buy and projects I'm never going to do.  But hey, I'm having fun.  Join me here!

I confess that I suck at taking off my eye makeup at night.  I'm a freak about washing my face and all that jazz but I'll usually leave my mascara/eyeliner on for like two.. three.. days.  It's so bad.  Hence why I never wear eyeshadow.  Because you have to take that stuff off every night.  I'm thinking about investing in this remover to help make life easier - supposedly it takes everything off in one swipe.  Doubt it but I'll give it the old college try (what does that even mean?).

I confess that I pretty much ate an entire bag of Snyder's peanut butter pretzels in one day.  They are so good.  And in my defense, it is kind of a small bag.  It's risky business being quarantined from your sick husband in the living room that's connected to the kitchen.

I confess that this post was probably one of the hardest ones I've ever written.  Or maybe awkward is the better word.  It's just weird to write nice things about yourself.  Not to mention, the whole time I kept wondering if it was coming off "too braggy" - I still really hope not!

What do you got for me?  Tell me I'm not alone over here in my Pinterest obsession, pretzel binge eating, three day old makeup?

  1. Great confessions my friend - I used to leave my eye make up on until I started using Dermalogica Pre-Cleanse which is an oil that takes ALL your makeup off - absolutely everything! My white towels are still white - for the first time ever! x

  5. My best friend leaves her eye makeup on for days too! I don't know how y'all do it!! I must sleep on my face or something because I wake up looking like I ran into a brick wall!! My mascara would be ALL OVER the place if I slept in it! hah!

  6. Love me some confessions! Have you tried Pond's cleanser cream? You rub it on then wipe it off in pretty much one swoop. Old school, but it works!

  7. I have a friend that does the same thing with her eye makeup! She can wear it for a few days with a little touch up and it always looks so good! I think it's impressive:) and I love that post-not too braggy at all! Very genuine.

  8. I'm so happy to hear that I'm not the only one who doesn't always take off their eye makeup. It's probably the thing I'm worst at. I had a nice eye makeup remover for awhile and did it regularly, but when I ran out, I just sort of stopped! I've been meaning to get a new remover, but I'm also cheap haha I actually think my eyelashes look better with day old mascara anyway haha Oh and I never thought that post sounded braggy at all! I actually really liked it and think that everyone should ask themselves those questions :)

  9. Love this - I suck at taking my eyeliner off. I'm super careful about everything else but man it's a hassle! Glad I discovered you through Shanna's link up :)

  11. I am definitely with you on Pinterest coming in waves. Eye makeup is the WORST! That is why I just avoid all makeup altogether most days ;)

  12. I don't take off any makeup at night... I consider it a beauty secret, shhh! :-)

  13. Pinterest has definitely been on a roll lately!! I'm like why yes I will pin a kitchen that I may never have. Haha. I use Simple makeup remover wipes and they're pretty good. Maybe that will help you? Those pretzels sound delicious. Sorry that your husband is still sick too! :-( You weren't bragging in your post either!! :-)

  14. The second confession is what I do as well! I'm learning to do better though I think :)

  15. Buy yourself some COOKING coconut oil (not one for your face, it's so gross) and just rub it all over your eyes in a circular motion until your makeup is all gone. Takes that stuff RIGHT off. Rinse after with soap. A $10 jar will last you months and it's hydrating at the same time. Trust.

  16. I love confession posts. I am also terrible at eye makeup. I wash my face, but wake up every morning looking like a banshee. I sleep with an eye mask and it's just a mess.

  17. I'm on the same wave right now with Pinterest and loving it! Also, HATE taking eye make-up off so I'll definitely check out that remover! Happy Wednesday girl! xo

  18. Ugh, I hate taking off eye make-up too. I use coconut oil, which is super easy, but, man... I just don't like to take the time. LOL.

  21. Loving Pinterest right now too - I go in waves too. But lately they have so many awesome things and ideas!!

  22. You're definitely not alone! I'm the world's worst when it comes to taking off my eye makeup. I just sort of fix it up the next morning and move on about my day. It's better if I don't really think about it. Ha!

  23. I've started printing off recipes as soon as I post them if I think I want to make them so I actually have them on hand to make my grocery list! I don't know why having the actual recipe printed out makes it easier, but it has been working so far. Some days I skip eye makeup because I know I won't feel like taking it off. The Lancome mascara is soo good, I'm using the Clinique and MaryKay right now and neither one work as well.

  24. Just put some wipes in your nightstand. I will just lay in bed and wipe and throw away the wipe in the morning :) haha

  25. My pinterest addiction comes in waves too. Right now...I'm all over it!

  26. I HATE taking my makeup off but make myself do it...Ugh. I have that Lancome remover and it is the BEST! I love it. It seriously takes it all off so easily. And that bottle will last 6 months to a year easily so it's worth the money!!!

  27. Haha! Love this type of post!! You've inspired me! Haha

You're not alone! I'm OBSESSED with PINTEREST since I've officially begun wedding planning! I love seeing the home ideas you pin! Great style!

  29. Taking off mascara is the worst… but I feel like my eyelashes would fall out if I didn't do it every night!! Oh and that post wasn't braggy at all- I loved it!! (Especially since you featured yours truly :)

  30. I've always wondered what "give it the old college try" meant to! So weird. I used to never take off my mascara/eyeliner either and then I noticed my eyelashes were breaking easily and so I figured I needed to take better care of them. Oh and I could totally binge eat on Snyder's all day every day!

  31. I also go hot and cold with Pinterest and am currently on another hot streak.. recipes, outfits, DIY's... I want it all!

Speaking of quarantine... how's he feeling? Are you in the clear now?

  32. I confess that I hate taking off eye make up and I rarely wear it for that reason. I also confess that I'm guilty of washing my face (in shower - timesaver - yo!) and forgetting to tone and moisturize for hours afterward... oops.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I love make up remover wipes. They are so easy to use and really do get all of your makeup off in just a few swipes. Definitely give those a try. Hope your hubby has recovered and that you are still feeling good. Snyder's pretzels don't last long at my house either because we all love them.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Too braggy!? Girl, you cray ;) Get those Equate/off-brand makeup wipes. They're awesome at getting off most all makeup before you wash up at night!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh my goodness, I am so bad about taking off mascara too... I fall into this awful mascara and eye concealer cycle where I just never take off the mascara and put on more and more concealer every day to cover the raccoon eyes haha! And I am so with you about Pinterest. I'm definitely in obsessed mode right now with recipes, and we've been trying at least 2 new ones each week.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don't think you could ever be braggy! And I'm with you on the eye makeup...I'm terrible about it! And Pinterest is the same way for me! I used to look at it every night, but now it's maybe only once or twice a week (which is still a lot sometimes), or only when I'm looking for something in particular!
    xoxo

  37. Pinterest is so dang addicting, I seriously cannot stay off of there. I am going to have to check out your boards! I don't always take off my mascara.. It is such a hassle!

  38. I WISH I was obsessed with Pinterest... so many people are and I just can't seem to get on board with it... But I do use it a few times a week :)
