Confessions

It's Wednesday and that means it's time to confess!  Cue the Usher song - these are my confessions...

I confess that I am #overwinter.  "Why do I live here?" floats through my mind seriously at least twenty times a day.  If I could convince Nick, I think I would totally head south.  I can't deal with the negative temperatures anymore.

I confess I'm probably the only female on the planet that hasn't read (or watched) 50 Shades of Grey.  I don't know why but maybe I'll jump on the bandwagon soon?!

I confess that I still don't know what I'm giving up for Lent.  Which starts today so, oops.  What are you guys giving up?  Give me some good ideas!

I confess that I am majorly crushing on this bag.  After realizing I'd have to sell a kidney to afford this one, I set off on a search for a more reasonably priced blush bag.  This beauty is perfection and somewhat reasonably priced.

I confess that this article made me realize I've been applying my makeup all wrong.  Foundation before concealer?  I've always done the opposite.  Thank goodness this stuff covers everything, no matter what.

Happy hump day, ladies!

  1. Well now I have the Lent guilt! I rarely give anything up... I'm pretty sure this makes me a terrible Catholic!

  2. I haven't seen anything related to 50 shades of grey either, haven't read the book! You're not the only one haha. I'm giving up all sweets for lent like cakes, chocolate, basically anything that tastes good. I might be a grumpy blogger for the next 40 days haha

    Happy Wednesday!

  3. Ugh I haven't decided what I'm giving up for Lent either. I guess I probably need to figure that out, like ASAP! And don't worry, I haven't seen 50 Shades either. I don't think I want to see it in the theater though. I feel like I'd just feel uncomfortable!

  4. I gave up anything other than water and sweets for the fast we've been doing (on top of eating healthier and no meat) and praise Jesus, it's almost over! I don't mind just drinking water but no sweets or anything fried has been killing me! And that article wa great! So many helpful tips!

  5. Well you already know yall would be more than welcome in Texas. I haven't decided about Lent yet either but I'm thinking I might take something on for the 40 days instead of give something up. Maybe like a daily Bibile study or something.

  6. I was beyond over winter too (as you know), and moving south was hands down the best decision we ever made. Our life is just so much better down here. If you ever need proof/someone to preach it to the hubs let me know. Bonus points for a much cheaper cost of living in the south too ;-)

I haven't read or watched 50 Shades either, it just didn't appeal to me. I'm sure I'll Netflix the movie at some point though.

And as soon as I saw the title of your post, the Usher song was stuck in my head ;-)

  8. Foundation before concealer, really? Lol I've been doing it all wrong too. I've never read/seen 50 Shades either, you're not alone ;)

  9. I haven't figured out what I want to give up either. For some reason it's so hard this year.

I'm with you on 50...did not see the need to jump on the bandwagon in the least. I've heard the writing is terrible, so why would I want to read a terrible book? And then see a terrible movie? Because everyone else has? no thanks, I don't need to be a sheep!

  10. That bag is gorgeous. I have not jumped on the 50 Shades of Grey train, and I'm not going to. Like I have ZERO interest. I actually put my foundation on before concealer haha. I don't even know why. I know that I should go to church today because it's Ash Wednesday, but its like a frozen tundra outside. I also have no idea what to give up for Lent. Hope that you're having a good day so far too!

  11. You are not alone in being over winter - this weather sucks! And here we are, heading into the two coldest days of the year apparently. Joyous. I've read all the 50 Shades books, but I have yet to see the movie - I feel like it's one of those that I'd rather watch in the privacy of my own home, you know? Happy Wednesday!

  12. I read the books but honestly you aren't missing anything. I felt like I lost brain cells while reading it. And that's coming from someone who is a firm believer in the "read all the things: the good, the bad, the ugly." There needed to be another category for that series.

  13. The first thought definitely goes through my mind - want to move to Charleston?! Love the bag you're lusting over, but the RM one is just as beautiful! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  14. I'm not on 50 Shades either... Definitely doing my make up wrong too.... Oops.

  15. No girl. You are NOT the only one who hasn't read 50 Shades. Nor do I want to. Well, I kinda do... But not enough to actually do it, ya know?

You should definitely move to the South! I did after 26 years in Minneapolis and it was the best decision I ever made. Doooooo it!! :)

  16. I love that bag. It's SO pretty. WHY must the prettiest things be so expensive? Stay warm in the blizzardy weather!

  17. I really thought this winter was going to be mild, then the last couple weeks went it went crazy. I don't know what to give up for Lent either. I'm normally good and prepared, but I'm lost this year. Maybe dessert? Fried food? Or maybe I could do something instead of giving up. Eek, I need to figure it out.

  18. I didn't read or watch 50 shades of grey yet either =Z We better get on this!

  19. you are definitely not the only woman to not have read 50 shades - I am not against books like that but I picked it up and couldn't get passed the first page, it was so horribly written.
i think to myself 'why the eff do we live here' so many times during winter. sigh. and when i think about healthcare, insurance, education, guns... lol.

  20. That pink bag!! SO cute! I tried to read 50 Shades and just couldn't, and have no interest in the movie, so you are not alone! SO over Winter, moving South sounds perfect!

  21. Girl.. you definitely need to jump on the 50 shades bandwagon. But honestly, the Crossfire series is even better! And I'm over winter too!

    ReplyDelete
  22. You should totally jump on the 50 Shades deal. While I'll admit some of the things you hear about may turn you away, the story/plot that is underneath all that will reel you in. I just saw the movie after reading all the books and I'm ready for the next ones :)

  23. Oh man, it must be so cold up there. I keep hearing about all the below-freezing temps up north and I feel so guilty that we're enjoying the 50's and 60's. On Monday, however, it was like 32 degrees here all day (which is not that common! Stay warm and bundle up!

  24. Can I agree with all of the things you confessed!? Haha I'm in the same boat! Guess I should also figure out what I'm giving up for Lent

  25. I haven't read or watched 50 shades either, so you're not alone! I always think it's funny when some makeup counter person tells me that you should apply this or that first. I go into a slight panic that I've been doing everything wrong for my whole life, and then get hopeful that I'll miraculous look 100 times better once I start applying it the new way. Then I go back to my usual routine. ha!

  26. i started the 50 shades book... but put it down. and i don't really care about the movie. would i watch it? probably when it comes out on netflix haha. you're not alone!

  27. Girllll, that much snow is tough!!! I'm ok with snow before the New Year, but much in to February, and I'm over it already... I think you need to go south!! :) :)

  28. Girl I couldn't handle negatives for one day! You are a brave soul! I'm with you on the 50 Shades confession though. My friend bought me the box set over a year ago and I have yet to unwrap them. I might get to it someday. And as far as Lent goes, I am giving up soda and vowing to work out at least 4 days a week. I hope you figure one out soon that works for you :)

  29. did not like or read or watch 50 shades. It was garbage. I couldn't make it through more than a chapter or two.

  30. That bag is SO cute, I've had my eye on the MAB tote mini, I really wanted black but all of the spring colors are so pretty. This year I decided not to give anything up, but am going to do a devotional daily in the morning-- which is going to be a challenge because i'm not a morning person.

  31. So I hadn't been to a movie since 2011(!!) and saw 50 last night. Holy moly, it is crazier than what I remember although it's been a while since I read the book haha. I'd wait for it to come out on Netflix honestly. Blushing in public is not my fave ;)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yes for your plot to flock South! :) at least for a week??

I'm giving up going to the work cafeteria for lent. I go for breakfast, coffee, lunch, second coffee and sometimes beer. This will be a challenge but also a great way for me to get back on the meal prep train!

  33. I read 50 shades and honestly was not impressed by it :/ It was not written very well in my opinion and I just got so irritated with the girl main character and all the s*** she put up with! haha! I was more into Gone Girl, both book and movie :) Seriously, when will this winter end?!!

  34. I have read or seen 50 Shades either but I think it's time to see what it's all about and watch the movie...I was told you can convince the husband easily to go based on all the nudity in the film. hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  35. I've never read 50 Shades either and it's all become white noise in my opinion. Now you have me swooning over that bag, oh.my.gosh. Gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I haven't read 50 Shades either and don't really have any interest in it. I also saw that tip about a year ago to do foundation first and then concealer #lifechanging :) I love all the pink for Spring and have yet to decide on something to give up for lent. I do know that it won't be cheese! haha I don't have that kind of will power!

  37. I havent watched 50 shades and dont know if I will. Meh. I am learning so much about makeup every day its insane!
