Friday's Five 2/6

Happy Friday from my couch!

I've been a bit under the weather the last couple of days with a cold - all I've been doing is drinking tea, cuddling with my puppy (or trying to) and binge watching The Affair.  That actually doesn't sound too bad, right?  If only the lovely scratchy throat, chills and stuffed up nose didn't accompany it...

Hoping to get caught up on my blog reading and emails this weekend!  In the mean time, a few highlights from the past few days:

ONE | Snow Snow Snow
We have SO MUCH SNOW over here.  Last Sunday, we got over a foot and then a few more inches on Wednesday.  This was taken in our driveway on Wednesday night!

TWO | Wallpaper
Nick has agreed to wallpaper in our powder room and I am practically giddy... but honestly, I don't even know where to start.  Can any of my interior decorating friends help?   Taking any and all recommendations on where to buy it, fun prints and tips for application.  Loving this inspiration via Pinterest.

THREE | Elements of Style
I'm sticking with my one book per month goal and finished Erin Gates Elements of Style in January.  Loved it!  Not only is the book filled with beautiful photos and tons of inspiration and ideas, Erin also writes short essays about her life at the beginning of every chapter which ended up being my favorite part of the book.

FOUR | Make Up For Ever Primer
Okay, so the MUFE Primer is one of my holy grail beauty products - it just made my can't live without list after all.  I stopped at Sephora earlier this week to pick up a new bottle and found out that it's being discontinued!!  So, so sad.  I picked up this alternative and fingers crossed I love it just as much.

FIVE | Better Call Saul
Anyone else ridiculously excited for the Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul starting on Sunday?  We can't wait!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Ooh I can't wait to see what wallpaper you choose! I am considering wallpaper for one wall of the nursery (instead of decals) but no decisions have been made yet. And hell yes to Better Call Saul! We binge watched Breaking Bad. Few months ago so I cannot wait! Hope you feel better soon!

  12. I'm sorry that you haven't been feeling well. :-( There is a ton of snow here too except its starting to turn into gross city snow now. :-/ Love the wallpaper along with the idea. Can't wait to see how your project turns out. I heard about that new show and it looks good. I never watched Breaking Bad (yeah I know, sad.) so I may just have to check out that show. I hope that you have a great weekend and that you feel better!!

  13. Ah! Look at that snow! Send it our way! - we wallpapered our mini bath too with the blue french toile I dreamed of and let me just say that hubby said he would never wallpaper again (haha) we youtubed an application video and he went from there. Mostly just time consuming but I'm in LOVE with it! I can't wait to see what ya'll pick out! Happy weekend!

  14. I didn't realize Better Call Saul was starting on Sunday. So excited!! We have so much snow too. I'm also at home on the couch. Not because I'm sick, but because we're having another snow day! Hope you're feeling better soon :-)

  15. I am so excited for Better Call Saul!! Is that why I couldn't find the green primer anywhere?! There is a green Loreal primer that Shelby posted about I am going to try! I LOVE Wallpaper!! The easiest way to get the good stuff is through a designer, but I would recommend going to your local paint store or checking One King's Lane, they have some good stuff! Hope you feel better and have a snow-free weekend! xo

  24. So curious about the new Saul show. Holy snow storm you all have had for sure! Can't wait to see what wallpaper you go with. At least you asked Nick; I would just wait till Trey goes out of town and do it (and 50% of the time he would never notice hahah). Have a great weekend!

  25. Let me know how you like that new primer, I'm always on the hunt for a primer that'll actually work. Everything works for a few hours, and then next thing I know I'm an oil slick again :-P

  26. So excited for the wallpaper- I can't wait to see what you guys end up picking! I'm always so sad when a product I love is being discontinued, hopefully the bareMinerals will work just as well. I've been loving the pore minimizing one from Smashbox- it's such an interesting texture but somehow it works for me. I hope you're feeling better soon!
