Easter Weekend

This was one of those weekends that I just did not want. to. end.  We didn't even do anything super exciting but it was perfect and relaxing and I'm pretty sad it's Monday right now.

Nick had off of work on Friday for Good Friday so we ran a bunch of errands and picked up supplies for all of our weekend projects.  While at Home Depot, we actually fell in love with a different dining room chandelier even though our one from Pottery Barn hasn't arrived yet.  When I saw this one in the store, I knew we had to buy it - it's just the look I was going for.

On Saturday, we were productive.  We painted our IKEA nightstands white, ordered wallpaper and a new sink for the powder room, cleaned up the backyard and grocery shopped for our Easter meal among a few other things.  To reward ourselves for our hard work later that night, we went out to dinner at a new restaurant/brewery that was converted from an old church.  The drinks were good and the food was delicious so it's a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Easter Sunday was perfection.  We went to the early church service and then Nick made an impressive spread of food.  Potatoes, eggs, polish sausage, fruit salad, donuts, mimosa's... yum, yum, yum.  Our local weather had called for a rainy, cool day but it ended up being 65 and sunny so we spent the majority of the day outside with Brady which made for one happy pup.  We finished off the weekend with leftovers and the return of Mad Men.

And that's why I'm sad it's Monday.  Hope yours was as great as ours!

  13. Sounds like an amazing and productive weekend! I really love the new chandelier. It fits the room so nicely and it reminds me a lot of the one we got for our old place that was also from Home Depot. Your place is really coming together. So exciting! It's making me wish we could go out and buy a house again lol

  15. That restaurant/brewery looks like a cute concept! I can't wait to see the paper you picked out for your powder room! That was our initial plan too, but our walls have a texture on them (Texas has bad soil for building, so walls crack and get textured to hide said cracks... I know, you really care about our soil, lol!) so we'd have to have the walls stripped and re-textured before applying the paper. Anyway, if you're still reading this, I still love a papered powder room and will live via you!

I love they kept that church in tact & used it. Old churches are so beautiful in their shape. Something you don't see often.
