Friday's Five 4/17

Happy Friday!  As you're reading this, I'm Chicago bound!  My girlfriends and I are headed to the city for the weekend to celebrate one of our best friends bridal shower.  Good thing I rested up after last weekend, it's going to be another fun-filled, jam packed couple of days!

ONE | Brady Boy
We finally let Brady sleep outside of his crate in our bedroom this week.  The first night was perfection - he spent half the night sleeping under our bed and the second half willingly in his crate.  The other nights?  No.  He just wanders around our bedroom, occasionally taking a little nap - any tips on how to get him to relax?!

TWO | Blogger vs. Wordpress
Thank you for all of your advice, comments, opinions, etc from Tuesday's post!  You gave me lots of good stuff to consider when it comes to making the big switch.  Still not sure what I'm going to do but I do know that there will be some changes coming to the blog soon.

THREE | Internet Purge
Speaking of blogging and the internet in general, it's been bogging me down a bit.  Sometimes I feel a slave to keeping up with my Instagram or Bloglovin' feed and that's just not fun.  After reading this really, really great article, I decided to do a purge of my social media feeds.  I'm honestly SO glad I did this - it's been such a time and sanity saver.  Now I'm just hoping I didn't accidentally un-follow any friends in the process!

FOUR | Gap Top
This is my favorite top as of recent.  I've been wearing it almost every weekend and I'm sure it'll make another appearance during this one.  Best of all, it's on sale right now with the code APRIL and comes in three different colors!

FIVE | Starbucks Stop
I had my first iced chai tea latte of the season this week!  Spring has sprung, hallelujah.

Enjoy your weekends!

  1. Have the best time in our city this weekend :) and I missed the blogger wordpress debate bc well I have been MIA but the biggest thing for me is owning your own content with Wordpress versus blogger which technically owns your content. Have the best weekend!!!

  2. I totally bookmarked that #unfollow experiment page. I really need to do that because I'm totally feeling like you are. It can be a lot sometimes. Have an amazing time in Chicago this weekend! And can't wait to see your blog changes! :)

  3. Loved that unfollow article! I actually already have a pretty tidy IG & Bloglovin' feed though... It may make me a bad blogger, but I simply don't have time to sift through what I don't care to see.

  6. Have so much fun in Chicago this weekend! We are terrible dog-parents and let our dog sleep in our bed after a few rough months of little sleep. So really never listen to my advice. Ha. Iced vanilla chia is my fave!!

  7. Have an awesome time with your friends in Chicago!! I recently cut back on my feeds too, and it really felt like a weight off my shoulders. Trying to keep up with everything all the time is just so overwhelming!

  8. Yep... iced chai teas... such a treat!
I have slowly been trying to clear out people in my social media feeds as well. I get aggravated at those that want to have all the followers but don't want to follow anyone though. UGH! Not cool.
I know with Harvey - & all our puppies we've had - the trick, which is easier to do in Spring/Summer - take them out for a good run, ball chasing, some sort of exercise before bed - it helps them sleep a little sounder. We actually preferred to do that before we left for work so they would sleep most of the day we were gone.
    Have a great girls weekend!!!!

  9. Bloglovin overwhelms me a bit - I read through Feedly, it reminds me more of Google Reader. RIP. Happy weekend!

  10. Brady is just a ball of energy! My only advice would be to exercise/play hard with him before bedtime so he will just pass out. Otherwise, it's possible that he's not quite ready to sleep outside the crate - every dog is different! I'm going to have to read that post about interns purging, and that top is fabulous! Have a great weekend in Chicago!

  16. I've been thinking of doing a purge, lately. It can get very frustrating to feel like I'm never caught up!

  18. I need a social media purge too! And Sophie still wanders on occasion...she sleeps in the best with me {spoiled pup}, but she'll still get down and wander every once in awhile!
    Happy Friday!

  19. Have a great time in Chicago!!! Keep at it with Brady. He'll eventually get it. Scout was the same way. If what he was doing woke us up we'd ignore it and pretend we were still sleeping.

  22. Very interesting "unfollow" article! It's so true that it's easy to get clogged up with repetitive content from the same source. I think I will do a little spring cleaning on my end too. :) That top from GAP is so cute... and now I want an iced chai. Haven't had one in forever. Have a great time in the city!!

  23. that gap top is so cute!! i have felt the same with the internet and stuff and i unfollowed a bunch of people semi recently, especially on instagram and bloglovin. i was marking a zillion posts read every day, so why was i following them? and with instagram, i was missing so much of my 'friends' posts (the ones i actually wanted to see) because i had so many other people overflowing my feed.. very relieved when i got it calmed down! i definitely accidentally unfollowed people i didn't mean to though haha

  24. I LOVE that top! I would be worried that it wouldn't cover my torso because I have such a long torso. Definitely worth trying though, and it looks so comfy!

  25. What a cutie of a pup! I hope he gets more comfy and gets some sweet dreams. I also have never thought about purging anything in my social sites as I really don't have much in them but I'm thinking I might need to clear out my tumblr for sure!
