Friday's Five

Happy, happy Friday!  After the past two very busy weekends, I have zero plans for this one and I couldn't be more excited.  But first, here's what we were up to this week...

ONE | Snow
It snowed here on Wednesday.  Yup, April 22nd and it was snowing - only in Michigan.  And probably Alaska.

TWO | Z Gallerie Devon Mirror
You may recognize this mirror from pretty much every bloggers home tour.  I've been in love with it for quite a while and finally scooped it up on sale this week!  I'm thinking it's going to replace this mirror over our fireplace.

THREE | The Girl on the Train
Cannot. Stop. Reading.  It is so so so good, I can't put it down.  If you need me this weekend, you can probably just find me reading this.

FOUR | Dining Chairs
Our tufted dining chairs finally came in from Overstock this week... and they are all wrong.  They're too short, the color is too dark and they're not nearly as high quality as I thought they would be.  If you have a favorite tufted chair, let me know because we're on the hunt again!

FIVE | Face Wipes
I've been reading a lot about using face wipes to take off your makeup before you wash your face so I picked up some of these Burt's Bees wipes to try.  Anyone else do this?  I'll be sure to report back if I like them!

I'm realizing this post has basically turned into five things I bought this week... but what else is there to do when it snows in April?
Enjoy your weekends!

  1. I used to always use face wipes before washing my face! Haven't used them in a while now, but I really should start that again. Girl on a Train is SO good. Enjoy it!

  4. I think I would actually cry real tears if it snowed here again. I'm reading a really good book right now but Girl on The Train is next on my list! Sorry about your chairs - that's so disappointing! Hope you have a good Friday and a great, relaxing weekend!

  5. Sorry that the chairs didn't work out, they looked beautiful in the inspiration pic. Check out Wayfair or Overstock, that's usually where I go for pieces like that.

Happy Friday gurlie, enjoy your relaxing weekend <3

  8. I use face wipes for days I have a lot of makeup on. I think it makes a high difference. My favorite ones are the N7 and the Simply ones. Can't wait to hear what you think of the Burt's Bees!

  10. I am terribly lazy and use face wipes way too often. Except, I don't wash my face afterwards - I just use the wipe.

  11. Thanks for providing a tiny review on that book, I may have to read it now. I use makeup remover wipes before I wash my face. I also just started using Burt's Bee's wipes for sensitive skin and I love them. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend relaxing! :-)

  12. I've always used face wipes before I wash my face - I wear too much makeup not to, ha! Almay is my favorite for those, but I'm curious to hear what you think of the Burts Bees. Nice score of the mirror, too!

  13. That mirror is fantastic!! I use simple wipes to take my makeup off and then wash my face with a cleanser. It totally makes a difference in my skin. And I love that clean feeling on my face. Have a great weekend.

Also, the waffles in the image are bringing out my inner Leslie Knope. Haha

  15. I love make up wipes and use them daily. I've had good luck with the store brand versions from Target and Wal-Mart. It's crazy to think you've gotten more snow this week!! Enjoy some for your Southern friends since we missed out on any snow this year :) Hope your weekend is extra relaxing!!

  17. SNOW??? This is the time I'm glad I live in the south. Is this the last of the snow? Or is it possible you'll get snow again? And bummer about those chairs, they look really nice in the photos.

  18. I usually run water and whatnot over my face before I apply makeup, honestly never thought about wiping it again with a wipe before doing it. Might need to try that!

Have a great weekend - oh and i believe you about the snow. Its done that in Missouri at random times. Today's high is 50 :(

  23. I can't believe it snowed! Girls are already wearing shorts around here! I hate to hear your chairs weren't right. That just stinks!

  25. Love both the mirror and dining chairs you are eyeing. I often use face-wipes to take off makeup especially when traveling to clean my face before going to bed. I think they work great.

  26. I can't even imagine snow right now, wow! I usually use face wipes at night to take my makeup off, then in the morning I wash my face in the shower with a cleanser. Anytime I've tried to take my makeup off by just washing my face with no wipes, it doesn't turn out well haha!

  27. Uhhhhh the snow! It was terrible! Hopefully it's nice this weekend.

  29. BOOO to the snow! So not ok! I love that mirror, such a great purchase! I really love our chairs, they are Safavieh and I found them in the store, BUT they sell them on Target's website for much less $ plus red card discount and free shipping!

  30. Tell that snow I said it need to STOP. Sad about the chairs - that's totally the worst!! I hate buying furniture - it's so hard when you can't touch and feel!!!!

  31. I've been hearing so many things about that book! I think I might have to finally add that to my never-ending list of books to read! I also swear by Burt's Bees products, however Neutrogena's makeup cleansing towelettes take off the most stubborn mascara! :)

  32. Just snagged that mirror on sale this weekend myself! It's just the perfect mirror at such a great price. Ugh, so sorry about those chairs, do you have to ship them back? Have a great weekend!

  33. That mirror is beautiful- we had one just like that in my sorority house! And I'm sorry the chairs didn't work out… I guess that's the only bad thing about getting things online, but I'm sure it will all turn out fabulous in the end!! xo

  38. I always use face wipes before I wash my face mainly because I just feel it makes my face cleaner. Glad to know that others actually do that too - I thought I was just anal! haha
