Lately + Thank You

You guys really know how to make a girl feel better!  Thank you so much for all of your kind words yesterday.  I went through every single one of your comments last night and made a list (I'm such a nerd) of your suggestions and ways I can put myself out there and can't wait to start working on some of these - especially volunteering and fitness classes and possibly even a part time job.

It's easy to get into a rut and sit around and feel sorry for yourself - which is totally where I was - but yesterday was an awesome eye opener so seriously, THANK YOU!  I don't know what I would do without you ladies.

Now on to some happier recent happenings...

{Brady is doing much better at sleeping out of his crate!  He curls up with a blanket on the floor (he loves blankets even more than I do) and sleeps through the night until he comes into bed with us around 6:30am.  It's perfect.}

{Picking up this baby for our dining room today!}

{Asian Salmon with veggies and noodles... drooling just remembering this dinner.}

{My two favorite guys.  And that is Brady's camera face, I'm convinced he hates getting his picture taken.}

{Nick's hockey team won the championship game on Sunday night!}

And the happiest thing of all?  Our ten day forecast is full of 60 and 70 degree days. YAY.

  8. I meant to comment yesterday! You know I've been in a rut with blogging recently too! I think everyone goes through it. And sometimes it's hard to find inspiration. I feel like you have a lot of great things going on and love reading your posts! I would love to see more of your new house and decor! I think you have the best taste! I love your new console! xoxo

  10. So glad you are feeling better, lady! Sometimes we just need a totally fresh perspective on our funk to give us new juice in life. Glad it helped, blog friends are the best aren't they?

    Congrats to Nick, that's so exciting! Gotta tell you I love Brady's camera face.

  11. Ahhhh, I had no idea you stayed home too! Not that you need more advice at this point, but what really helped me transition - because let's face it, it can be REALLY lonely - is getting really involved with my yoga/barre studio. Sure, the first few times you go you know nobody, but keep at it and soon you'll have friends AND a healthy hobby. That's honestly how I met 90% of my friends in Dallas.

    But that was yesterday's post. For today, your dog is adorable and please come cook me that Asian salmon dinner, k?

  14. It’s so nice how a little kindness can make a girl feel better! Glad you’re having a better day! Ah, your sweet pup – SO adorable! The salmon, veggies, noodles looks delicious!

  15. Yay for Brady! He is the best...I caught up with your post from yesterday and just wanted you to know again, you are not alone! It is definitely tough making friends in the adult world. A lot of my friends I made when I moved to Atlanta have all moved away...so now my next step is looking into the Junior League and seeing how that may turn out. Something to look into? Hope you have a happy Tuesday!!!

  16. I am so sorry I didn't read your post yesterday! I have been in your shoes..and feel your pain. I haven't worked for 2 months, and feel the same way. I enjoy being flexible with my husbands' schedule, but there is just something missing. I went to a job fair over the weekend with a headhunter to find a job. We shall see if I find one today, or next month, or at all. Time will tell. Keep your head up, have a glass of coffee/wine, and just breathe. These ruts pass. Whether it is today, or tomorrow, or next week. The next best thing will come up, and this will seem like forever ago!
    Have a great week!!!

  17. Brady is so cute, anti-camera face and all! You have to share pics of that sideboard in your dining room! I'm drooling over THAT! I hope today is a better day and all of the warm weather will make things even better! xoxo

  20. Glad you got some good inspiration girl, I'm a total list maker too so I would have done the same ;) Brady is so cute, love the pics!

  21. Brady all curled up in your bed is too much...how can you ever get out of bed with him just wanting to snuggle with you?!!? A-DOR-able!

  22. Happy to hear that you are feeling better. Perhaps a part time job or some volunteering will help. It is so hard to make friends as we get older. You are not alone in your feelings. I think getting out of the house everyday can do a world of difference, even if just means a walk around the neighborhood. Brady is too cute.

  23. Brady's camera face is much more adorable than my cat's camera face! Glad to see you feel better! congratulations to Nick

  24. I missed your post yesterday, so I just read it now. I went through a similar phase when I moved to Charleston - it really is hard to make friends as an adult. I ended up finding a lot of friends through my college's alumni group. It started by just watching games or attending events with people, but eventually turned into real friendships. There's not really as easy option to rush it, but eventually you do start to find those groups and quality friends.

  25. That dinner looks so good girl! I cracked up with Brady's camera face.....doesn't he know it's his job to be a good blogger dog and smile for the camera? ;-)

  26. Our Sydney used to make the funniest faces at the camera... she'd be ears up, perky & see the camera & be like, "OH NO YOU DONT"

  27. At least someone's hockey team won something! ;)

    Your dog is just too darn cute!!

    Brady is growing up! He's such a doll.

  29. OH my Brady is getting sooo big!!! And I love his camera face - I have a pup that gives me the stink eye every time I try to take his picture.

  32. Yummm- that Asian salmon does look delicious. And happy that you have some warm weather - it has been too cold here lately (60s) and I'm ready for spring weather again. I need to lay out and get some color on this pastey skin!

  33. mmm that salmon looks delish!! and Brady is adorable :) and good luck with working through that list ;)

  34. Just read your post of yesterday and I totally understand. I have had those exact same feeling multiple times living overseas. One thing that helped me was to have some sort of routine- I didn't always do it but the days that I did I always felt much better and more productive! Workouts was always part of that and I love the idea of volunteering! I hope you find that rhythm that makes you feel good!! Thinking about you!

  35. Lists always help!! Enjoy that very welcome Spring weather! Xo

  38. Brady is so cute! Kobi is also a major fan of blankets! We tried to do a bed for him once and he ripped that sucker to shreds, but his blanket, still going strong :)

  39. Brady is just the cutest thing! Soph loves pillows and blankets -- she makes a "throne" and perches on them. Such a diva.

  43. Gah...Brady is just adorable! I love that table! When we get all our furniture moved back in, I'm gonna need some kind of couch table {I think they have a name?}. Love the style of that one! And our dogs HATE having their pictures taken. Wonder why that is??

  44. Brady is totally giving you the stinkeye. Did you wake him up too early for that picture or what?! YAY for Nick winning... I'm amazed he's still playing hockey. Who am I kidding... I don't know ANYTHING ABOUT HOCKEY!
