Coffee Table Books + My Friday

I'm on a mission: to acquire coffee table books.  With having two living rooms and four bedrooms, we have a lot of space for decor and I love the idea of using books anywhere and everywhere.  At this moment, I only own two coffee table books so I've got a long(!) way to go.  Nick and I decided last year to start collecting them from our travels and so far we have a Charleston and a New Orleans one.  This will be something fun that we'll do forever but since we can't travel to new places all of the time - unfortunately - I think I'll need to stock up on additional books.

So tell me, what are your favorite coffee table books?  Just from assessing Pinterest, I can tell that this one is a must have.

And I'm considering today my Friday because bright and early tomorrow morning I'm heading to Nashville for a friends bachelorette weekend!!  So excited.  Send me all of your favorite bar recommendations, too and don't forget to follow along with our shenanigans on Instagram @ka5ohare :)

Hope you all have a great weekend!

  3. We have coffee table books, but they are all underneath the table because we use ours in our apartment so much. I definitely want to get the Chanel book, to add to our travel books. Have a blast in Nashille, it is such a fun place. I highly suggest http://theacmenashville.com for a bar, super fun atmosphere and Urban Grub for food. SO AMAZING!

  4. My current coffee table books have been the same for about 4 years! I have the Design Sponge at Home book (pretty coral/orange color), the Jonathan Alder Happy Chic Colors (blue color) and the Domino book of decorating (teal/mint color). I stack them in that order and I just love the way the colors look with one another. I need to update my coffee table selection though! I love that Chanel book! I would love to add more black and gold to the mix!

  11. I hear Pier 1 has great coffee table books.

As for Nashville, you must get a meal at the Loveless Cafe (and my last name, ha) - its worth the wait, trust me; get some great BBQ at Jack's and/or Rippy's; check out the Honky Tonk Bar and really all the bars on Broadway are awesome; check out the mansions in Belle Meade; if you're a fan of the show Nashville, you'll love seeing the Bluebird Cafe; visit the Parthenon in Centennial Park...and if you need more ideas, let me know! Where are you guys staying?

  21. I am a huge fan of art coffee table books. You can pick them up at any gallery store, book store -- or thrift store! They're fun to page through, and usually have wonderful reproductions or photographs.

  22. You know, I have never used coffee table books! I love them, but I like to keep the coffee table as clear as possible. Mainly due to the bullie who likes to chew books lol. But I think they add so much dimension! I love the black and white affect.

  31. We used to have a coffee table but we no longer have one since Sophie enjoyed pushing it all around our living room.

Pinterest is my inspiration place, and here's what I would love to decorate ours with:

As for books, I love putting out my favorite ones so that I can pick them up and read them again.

  32. I used to have several of princess Diana's dresses and loved looking through them. However, I found personally that they took over the house(even though I only had a few). I don't think we have any books anymore that are the size you are talking about. I do have scrapbooks that we keep out and hopefully our wedding album as well.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good coffee table book-really. But with three dogs, and hopefully kids one day, I'm not sure how that will work. I do miss reading about Diana's dresses though!
