Thank you guys so much for all of your kind words yesterday. They really did help make a crappy day that much better (along with shopping the Bath & Body Works and Victoria's Secret semi-annual sales) and I'm so thankful to have the blogging community as a support system. I'm responding to each of your emails but it's a bit slow going so I just wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate your thoughts :)
Now for something a little more fun today - a makeup tutorial! Please forgive the pictures, my hair, the fact that I'm wearing a t-shirt... basically everything about the above. I wasn't planning on creating a post out of this but it was such a simple and yet put together look that I had to share.
Seven steps with seven products to get out the door quick and easy this summer - I think we can all get down with that, right?
TWO | Bronzer time! I'm still loving Tarte's Park Avenue Princess and I apply using the "3" rule - trace a figure 3, starting on your temples down to your cheekbones down to your jawline. I also like to take an eye shadow brush and lightly dust bronzer down the sides of my nose to give it more definition. Don't forget to blend, blend, blend.
THREE | Using your same bronzer, apply as eye shadow (make sure to use your eye primer before hand). This helps create a natural look and you don't have to lug out that big eye shadow palette!
FOUR | Break out the highlighter -- blend Benefit's Sun Beam to the top of your cheekbones for a glowing, sun kissed look. This is probably my favorite product to break out each summer. A little bit goes a long way towards looking like you spent the day on the beach :)
FIVE | Fill in your eyebrows but with a light hand as the goal is to look natural and not overdone. For this, I like to use Benefit's Speed Brow. It takes a whooping 5 seconds to do each brow!
SEVEN | Finally, my favorite part of all... mascara. I'm still obsessed with Benefit's They're Real (I swear this post isn't a Benefit add!). Feel free to curl your eyelashes before -- confession: I'm still to scared to try this -- and only one or two coats should do it.
And that's it! This look took me about 10 minutes from start to finish, perfect for those summer days where we don't want to waste a lot of time getting ready. Let me know if you give it a try!
