Friday's Five

Another Friday, another crazy weekend ahead!  This time I'm heading to a friends wedding in Detroit while Nick is off to his best friends bachelor party weekend at the lake.  We'll be meeting up on Sunday night in Holland to see the Marshall Tucker Band in concert with my family and then Monday is our anniversary (!!) so don't be surprised if I don't show back up here until Tuesday! :)

Here's what we've been up to this week...

+ Gardening
Nothing like waiting til the end of July to plant our gardens, right?  Procrastination at it's finest but at least we finally did (some of) it.  I'm literally clueless about this stuff - all I want to do is plant a bunch of hydrangea bushes but I hear they're bad for dogs and we all know our dog can't control himself from eating anything and everything sooo there's that.

+ Lemon Blueberry Bread
We had a bunch of leftover blueberries so I found this recipe thanks to trusty Pinterest and whipped it up.  And then it was gone 48 hours later because it's that delicious.  I think the lemon icing glaze really makes it!

+ The Bachelorette
SO excited for the season finale!  I think she's going to pick Sean.. what do you guys think?  I like him but I wish he hadn't been such a big baby all season about Nick.  And Ben H better be the next bachelor.  Actually I'd take Ben Z, too ;)

+ Birthday Gifts
I finally redeemed my birthday gift from Nick on Thursday - a facial and 90 minute massage.  This was my first ever massage and it was pretty amazing.  I was so relaxed afterwards and may have even taken a quick nap when I got home!

+ Holy City Chic
I always love to share when I find a new blog crush and this week it's Holy City Chic!  She's super cute, lives in Charleston (sold right there) and I like how her blog reads like you're just having a convo with a friend.

Now I'm off to coral my dog, his crate and like 15 packed bags into the car and head out of town (again).  Happy weekend!

  6. Definitely cracking up over your comments about sweet Brady boy -- but I do love the hydrangeas! I had no idea they were bad for dogs! Massages are quite possibly my favorite way to get pampered -- so glad you enjoyed! Happy Weekend!

  8. I don't know about you, but whenever I get a massage I can't ever relax because I can't get the thought out of my head that a stranger is touching me. And I worry about things like, I hope their hands aren't cramping. Lol, weird I know. But that sounds amazing..my puppy got me one for my birthday this year ;) And holy moly do you go to a lot of weddings!! Must be the summer of love <3 Hope to see some pics from you next week ;)

  9. Massages are THE best - there's just no other way to say it! My master plan is to get my husband hooked on them too (so he can totally get it and not whine about the money spent) it's almost working but we aren't quite there yet lol. Have great weekend, girl!!

  10. I've been dying for a massage all week - so glad yours was amazing!! The 90+ minute ones are the BEST. Happy anniversary - hope you have an amazing weekend and a fantastic anniversary!! (You are totally having the best summer ever.) PS... my parents almost killed our pup with an oleander bush... because our dog was getting high eating it. You should have seen his withdrawls after they pulled it out. Rehab for pups - it totally needs to be a thing.

  14. Hydrangea bushes are bad for dogs?! Well, that's sure good to know - I'm hoping to put some in our yard next year, so I'll just put them somewhere that Finn can't get at them. :) A facial and a massage sounds pretty heavenly at the moment, and lemon blueberry bread?! Yum. Hope you have a fun weekend of travel!

  36. We have hydrangea bushes, but thankfully our dog leaves them alone! They are so pretty. :) Hopefully you'll find something perfect soon! I'm so bad at landscaping, haha! We have some serious work that needs to be done in our front yard.
