That Time Nordstrom Sent Me $1500 Worth of Stuff That Wasn't Mine

...yep.

On Tuesday night, my second favorite man in my life - the UPS driver - delivered two giant Nordstrom boxes to my doorstep.  Which was strange because I wasn't expecting these two giant boxes, despite the fact that they were addressed to me.  I ripped right into them and inside.... so much good stuff.  Stuart Weitzman boots, a Cole Haan bag and lots and lots of clothes - ALL IN MY SIZE.  I swear it was a temptation box sent straight from the Devil himself because naturally, I wanted to tell no one about this and just keep everything.  Especially after I tried it all on.  I couldn't help myself, everything was my size!   But I try to be a good person (unfortunately) so I reluctantly packaged it all back up and shipped it back to Nordie's yesterday.

And can I just say that I'm totally kicking myself for not ordering this Hinge skirt while it was on sale?  Because it's fabulous and so gorgeous in person - and fits me like a glove ;)

Some other Friday musings...

+ We made Lisa's chicken fajita bake for dinner this week and it was so good!  Super easy, too - it took me less than 30 minutes which makes it perfect for weeknights.

+ I've been thinking about Leslie Sisti's family almost nonstop, and was so grateful when Kelly from Kelly's Korner shared a post about how we can help.  Beyond donating money to the girls college fund (which is well over $20k!), check out her suggestions HERE if you're interested.

+ Tassel earrings: yay or nay?  I love how they look but I can't help but feel like they'd be so heavy on the ol' lobes.  This is my favorite pair I've come across.
+ I have a post coming up next week on my recent hair favorites that I'm really excited about.  My recent obsession is with R + Co products.  I'm a sucker for cute packaging and this line nails it.

+ We have five pounds of delicious Michigan blueberries in our fridge right now.  We've been eating them straight, in smoothies, in blueberry pancakes and our favorite lemon blueberry bread but there are still so many of them left.  Tell me your favorite blueberry recipes!

Happy weekend!  We have a wedding (shocker) but at least it's here in town :)  See you ladies on Monday!

  1. I would have been tempted...but there is probably someone who paid for that stuff and was expecting it.

  2. First of all I can't believe that happened! Did Nordstrom give you anything for returning the merchandise? But if you have a ton of blueberries I have made this lemon blueberry cake a few times that I saw on Positively Pretty in Pink. It's amazing and looks so fancy but easy to make. In a pinch I have used the lemon curd from trader joes! http://www.positivelypreppyinpink.com/2014/05/on-menu-lemon-blueberry-cake-with.html?m=1

  10. I can't imagine how tempting that must have been! My mom ordered TB wedges about a month ago, and instead of the wedges, she received two gorgeous bags. I definitely wanted to keep them! And that lemon blueberry bread sounds amazing! Happy Weekend!

  23. Wait, so did you ever figure out why in the world you received all that Nordstrom stuff?! You have a lot of self control, girlfriend. :) I have a pound of blueberries from Costco sitting in the fridge that I probably need to use up, so thanks for the reminder. Have fun at the wedding!

  24. I know how hard it is to return items that are wrongly delivered to you, been there girl! Especially when the items fit you so perfectly and you wish you bought them, it is so easy just to keep them for yourself. But it just shows what a kind person you are because whoevers package it really was will be so grateful.
    Enjoy your weekend! xo

  25. oh my gosh! hahaha that is hilarious. i love that you tried it on. i would have been like, what stuff?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Loving that you tried all that good stuff on - I would have done the same. But bravo to you for sending it back. Sadly, a lot of people wouldn't have. I know the rightful owner will be very excited to receive that package one day soon:) I just popped some blueberries into my freezer after picking them up on sale while grocery shopping this morning. We have several pints in our fridge already, and I plan to make a pie here soon:)

Also, not sure how I feel about tassel earrings either. I think I need to see some in person to decide:)

  33. Wow, that must have been incredibly tempting! Also, I've wanted one of those skirts for the longest time but I sadly haven't found the right one for me. This one looks great though. Too bad it's not on sale any longer!
