It's Friday!

Follow my 'Fall' themed Pinterest board here!

I thought this picture seemed only appropriate since visiting the cider mill is on our weekend agenda :)  Also coming up?  Seeing Chicago's Second City comedy troupe that is in town for the night, golfing and dinner with my family tomorrow, finally going back to church since like May (so bad) and lots of football watching.  A pretty perfect fall weekend!

But first, some highlights from the week...

+ Thank you ALL so much for joining Pinky and I's 'falling for fall' link up!  I read every single post and I loved them all.  Everything plaid, pumpkin and (basic) just makes me so happy.  The link up was a huge success and I hope this can be a yearly thing, what do you think Pinky?!

+ You may have seen on Instagram, but we woke up to a little flood in our basement on Wednesday morning.  A pipe from the sink in our bathroom on the main floor had come undone sometime in the night and was shooting water allll over our bathroom, which was then draining through the floor vent down into our basement.  Luckily we don't have a lot of valuable stuff in the basement so nothing important was damaged except tons of boxes that we needed to clean out anyways.  We were able to get all of the water out of the bathroom and the basement and it looks like everything is going to be okay thankfully.  It could have been SO much worse - imagine if this had happened over a weekend when we were out of town?!  We were lucky!

+ #obsessed with this cardigan/jacket thingy from Anthropologie.  It will be mine- next time a sale comes along ;)

+ I made Lisa's pumpkin bread recipe and it is delicious/dangerous/addicting.  Basically it's so good and you should try it this weekend.  Be sure to make the crumble for on top too because that might be the best part.  Oh, and I didn't make mini loaves, I used a 9x5 loaf pan and baked for 60 minutes on 350 degrees.

+ Did everyone stay up and watch TGIT last night?!  I'm so happy fall TV is back... right now I'm all about Nashville, Scandal, How To Get Away With Murder, Fear the Walking Dead, The Good Wife and I can't wait to check out Blood and Oil on Sunday.  Haha I may have a TV problem - that's a lot of shows.  What's your favorite?

Enjoy your weekends!  See you back here on Monday!

  4. Katie! While I was in Michigan last weekend we totally tried to go to Yates Cider Mill, but the line was through the parking lot! I wanted donuts and cider so badly, but wasn't able to since I had to catch my flight! Please eat a donut for me (or ten!) They are so delicious! Happy Weekend! (and hope the flood got better!)

  10. Pumpkin bread is definitely happening. I have mini loaves that I NEVER have used so that gives me an excuse, and I can portion control better right? haha. (I wish) And so glad to hear your basement is okay!! Owning a home is kind of my nightmare. I love that I'm not responsible for anything here haha.

  17. I'm so happy that the flooding in your basement didn't do an unrepairable amount of damage, nothing worse than unexpected disasters when you're just trying to get your "fall" on!

  22. I am so behind the times, what is TGIT?
sucks about the flood, but great attitude! my mother in law's basement has flooded 4 times since she bought the house in 2012. and she keeps putting expensive valuable stuff down there and it keeps getting ruined lol.
okay i have never had pumpkin bread and that looks amazing. have a good weekend!
