Confessions

It's that time again.  Monthly confessions, here we go...

I confess that as you're reading this, I'm completely alone with a 6 month old and almost 3 year old - for the first time ever.  I'm watching my friends kids today and really have no clue what I'm doing with kids (babies) this age.  I did a little babysitting when I was in high school but they were all ages 8+ sooo yeah.  Hopefully we all survive today.

I confess that I feel major guilt when I leave Brady alone all day like this.  I know he's probably sleeping and doesn't even notice/care, but I just feel so bad about it.  I've become that crazy dog lady!

I confess that I am SUPER proud of myself for already booking our Christmas card photo shoot!  Seriously, this is something I've wanted to do for the last couple of years but never remember until it's too late so pat on the back for me.  And I used a Groupon so I saved a ton of money!  Now to focus on the serious stuff: what to wear?!

I confess that I need to get one of these to step up my soup game.  I have come across so many amazing soup recipes that use it so I just need to make the purchase already.  Anyone else have one/recommend a good quality one?

I confess that we're only two? three? weeks into fall TV programming and I already can't keep up with my shows.  I have a date with my DVR tonight to try and catch up.  I'm really liking the new Blood & Oil and Code Black!

I confess that despite just ordering new leggings, I now need to order this pair.  They're pretty amazing, right?  I love this brand and I think I'd get a lot of wear out of them this winter because leggings = happy.

Now tell me a confession!

  5. I hope the babysitting goes ok--I promise Brady will be a-okay. He'll just be that much more excited to see you walk through the door!
I have an immersion blender (ironically, I used it last night) and it is SO worth it! I'll try and find the one I bought online and send you the info if you want it!

  6. You will rock the baby sitting out, lady! I know you've got this!

Immersion blenders are amazing, we use our for soups, spaghetti sauces and to froth milk for lattes!

  7. I hear ya on the DVR - I told hubby we'll have to just sit and binge watch eventually all at once because its just not happening on a weekly basis! I love the new B&O, I'm a huge fan of Wick when he's been on other stuff - not to mention he's super cute to look at ;)

  8. Hope the babysitting is going well! I used to use a website/app called sidereel to keep up with all my shows, but I don't watch a lot of shows anymore so I deleted my account. Haha

  9. Good luck with babysitting today, you'll do great gurlie and Brady will be just fine. I used to feel bad leaving Roxy home all day while we're at work, but when I'm working from home all she does is sleep all day anyway lol. And yay for Christmas card photos being booked, and some DVR time. I hear ya... my DVR is backed up too. Can't wait to dive in and enjoy some of these shows <3

  10. I have total fur mom guilt when I leave Pixie too! Especially on my days off I feel like I should never leave the house and hang out with her all day. But then I remember she's a dog, not my child even though I treat her like one, and she'll be fine! She has zero sense of time!

  11. Good luck with the babysitting! And I'm definitely one of those crazy dog ladies -- now that I live next to my parents, I send Sophie to their house for her own babysitting all day haha!

  12. YES to those leggings!!! I may need them too haha. We sell faux leather leggings at Evereve (thats where I work) but they are too long on me. Boo to that. Anyways.. good luck with the kids today. You will be just fine!! We just had my nieces over and we survived haha. I have babysat and taken care of them plenty of times.. As long as they're entertained, they are fine. Brady will be OK too. :-) I was thinking about Christmas cards yesterday too. A photo shoot sounds so fun!! Anyways, have a great day and I always love reading these posts!! :-)

  13. We have an immersion blender and seriously love it!! I never use my actual blender or food processor because of it! We use it on almost every type of soup that we make, potatoes, and anything else you can think of, get it, you won't regret it!

  14. Omgosh it's so hard to keep up with the shows! Especially because with vlogging I've come to enjoy some family vloggers and love to watch their vlogs.. So many things to watch, so little time!! Those leggings are super cute! You'd totally rock them!

  17. Hue really makes the best leggings and they are such a great price point. I blame Fall tv on my bad blogging right now. There are just too many shows to keep up with!

  18. I have been wanting to check out both Blood & Oil and Code Black - I just don't know if I want to commit to two more hours of TV a week, I am already Scandal obsessed, ha!

  19. Good luck baby sitting, let me know if you survived! I can always give you tips :)

And yes all these new shows, I feel like there's not enough time to watch them AND blog, or even work :/

  23. As a photographer, I applaud you for scheduling early!!!
I have the same dog - guilt ... but with our home cameras, that's exactly what they do most of the day, just sleep :) Saving all that energy for when you get home.

  24. Good luck with the babysitting! The fact that you are able to sit down and write a blog post tells me that you are a rockstar with babies! haha! I love soups in the fall/winter! I tried a copy cat recipe of Panera's autumn squash soup last year and it was pretty good! Just a lot of work with the food processor, etc. Love those faux leather leggings!

  25. Oh good luck with babysitting!! I'm sure you will survive. Although, it is so much work!! I can't believe the Holiday Season is so close. Where does time go?

  26. Most important things are keeping them fed and their tooshies clean. Everything else is just noise! :)) Have Fun! Ps. I can't keep up with my shows either!

  27. oh my goodness, that first confession is terrifying. haha. i love kids and babies but only when the parents are only a short scream away. my scream, by the way, not the kids.

  28. I miss Brady and I have never even met him! And yo, next time y'all are in Chicago, I'd love to do a shoot for you (gratis!) :)

  29. Hope you have a fun day with the kiddos :) Head home and take a nap!! I am impressed that your photo session is already booked. I've started thinking about outfits for ours and am hoping to have my mom or sister take pictures for us sometime in November. I'm loving The Voice, Greys and Married right now.

  30. A girl can't ever have enough leggings!

  31. Yay for getting your Christmas card photo shoot booked! I need to get on that! Are you going to have Brady in your photos?

  32. I just watched the premiere of Blood and Oil today. It's pretty good! I'll definitely watch the second episode.

I hope you survived the baby sitting! I bet you rocked it! :)

And girl, good for you for getting your Christmas card photos scheduled! I'm already almost completely booked between now and Christmas and it's only the first week of October. I always encourage people to schedule as early as they can (especially if they need a weekend date)! So good for you! :)

  33. Immersion blenders are AMAZING. I have a Cuisinart CSB-79 Hand Blender that came with a bunch of accessories and it's so handy. It does the work of a mini food processor and a powered whisk in addition to an immersion blender. I use my blender alllllll winter long for soup. Do it!

  34. There are seriously so many awesome shows this Fall TV season, Code Black is good from the first episode! Good luck with the babies, I wouldn't know what I'm doing, I can handle toddlers, but babies are a whole other ballgame! I think maybe some plaid/flannel would look perfect for a Christmas shoot :)!

  35. Ooh you better be watching Homeland, lady! Guessing you survived just fine with the kiddos. I hate leaving my fur beebies, too, but it made me feel better when my mom told me just remember they don't know how long you are gone; 20 minutes and 4 hours are like the same to them ;)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Can I please confess that I had that immersion blender and couldn't get it to work right for the life of me and just got rid of it?

    ReplyDelete
  37. You are so on top of it with the Christmas photo shoot! Those leggings are gorgeous! Love the leather look. Hope you had fun with the little ones! :)

  38. Long lost friend! We have a dog now and I feel terrible leaving him alone all day. And I'm jealous about the Christmas card thing! We're having to skip out this year to pay for other lame (but necessary) things. Can't wait to see them!

    ReplyDelete
  39. That's mainly why I don't even bother with network television anymore. I can't ever keep up! I hope your day with the kiddos went well! I always feel so guilty leaving the dog.

  40. Our Christmas card shoot/Vivian's 6 month shoot is next weekend and I am so glad that it's booked and ready to go. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Now I just have to make sure we all have coordinating outfits. Eeek!

  41. I'm having such a hard time keeping up with shows now too! I hate leaving Scout all day too. I feel like he gets lonely!

  43. Haha, crazy dog mom - welcome to the club! I always feel guilty when I'm not at home with Finn. Hooray for a Christmas card photo shoot! I've been keeping an eye on deals for around us, too, but I think we may actually try to take them ourselves since we have the wooded lot in our backyard - thank goodness for a tripod and remote shutter clicker. I can't wait to see what you decide to wear!
