Friday + Links

It's the last Friday of October... so nuts.  We don't have much on the agenda this weekend thankfully considering Nick and I have both had colds all week, blah.  We'll probably just hang out around home, hopefully have lots of trick-or-treaters (because I have lots of candy ready to go) and then take our Christmas cards pictures on Sunday afternoon!  Cannnnnot wait.  What's on your weekend agenda?

+ Previous Bachelorette Jillian Harris always has flawless hair and she shares her
10 steps to achieve the perfect curl - it includes using my current favorite shampoo!

+ Considering it snowed here this week (I know), it's time to step up my winter comfy game.
Anyone have these Ugg slippers and are they worth the money?

+ If you're addressing Christmas cards this season, you need one of these!  Genius.

+ How to make a pretty cheese plate using only Trader Joe's items... aaand I'm drooling.

+ Have you entered Amanda's PMD giveaway?  I've had this baby on my wishlist forever
so I've got my fingers crossed!

+ I'm pretty sure I would live in this sweatshirt on the weekend.

Happy Friday -- and don't forget about the time change on Sunday!

  1. I was trying to forget about the time change this weekend! Such a bummer! It'll be so dark so much earlier!! Boooo! Hope you have a fab weekend!

  2. I can tell that I'm super lazy about my hair (that....and it's naturally curly), when I read "10 steps" to perfect curls and think, yeah, no way I'd do ten steps of anything on my hair. I'm the kind of hairstylist who really only likes doing other people's hair and then just leaves mine natural, haha, I can't imagine having a daily styling routine for myself....even though that's probably normal for most of humanity...

  3. The last weekend in October, that is crazy! I am baffled but excited for the holiday season right around the weekend. Speaking of holiday, that stencil is amazing. I did my addresses similar to that last year and they were fabulous but a labor of love. The stencil might be helpful. My cards are being printed now, WOOHOO!

I can't believe you had SNOW! I don't wear UGGs, but I have the most comfy slipper flip flops that I wear every morning. They are the best! Happy FRIDAY!

  6. I can not believe it snowed there, it was literally 80 degrees here all week! That is the neatest thing for addressing cards, I need to remember it.

  8. Stop! It snowed? It got up to the 80s here this week.... We hit up trader joes for our cheese plate date nights (you've just inspired me to do it tonight to surprise the hubs!) so I'm definitely taking that article with me!

  11. That lettermate is genius. Thank you for posting that! I wish I had it for my wedding invitations because addressing over 200 save the dates and wedding invites was insane.. but I am buying that RIGHT now for my thank you cards.

  15. Yay for Christmas pictures- I can't wait to see how they turn out!! We did our first card last year but since we're sending out save-the-dates in November... I figured we'd skip out this year. And definitely checking out that stencil- that would come in handy when I'm doing calligraphy on my envelopes!! Have a great weekend :)

  17. That sweatshirt is super cute. Gotta love Nordy's. So, I have heard amazing things about the Ugg slippers....BUT....I bought a dupe pair at Old Navy (in the cutest bright pink shade), and they are so amazingly comfortable, I can't imagine that the Uggs could be that much better? And for the price difference, I'd suggest going with the Old Navy option. That way, if Brady decides he needs a chew toy, you won't be too upset about it:)

    Happy Friday, sweet friend!

  18. I have those ugg slippers! I love that you could literally wear them out if you just didn't care (oh and I have.) I've had them for so long and I am considering asking Santa for another pair this year because it's time...they are amazing. Happy Friday!

  28. Ugg slippers. I thought there was no way it was worth it. But when my pain was bad and it was my bday and I had no idea what to ask for, I asked for them. Not those exact ones but ugg slippers. And...they are worth it. If I could sleep with them on, I would. It is like tempurpedic for your feet. Again, I don't have those but I have had friends who have had both kinds and rave about them both. Also, another rave review: Nonna. She got hers when they first came out years ago and Nonna does not spend that kind of money on stuff like that ever. She says they are worth every penny. Last year, she got a new pair (granted hers last like at least seven years). Finally, another friend says her whole family buys a size up so they stay fluffy. I didn't know this at the time and take it for what it is worth. The fluffiness isn't what it makes them great in my mind but thought I'd share ALL I know or have been told. Haha

  30. Snow already?! That sounds lovely to me. As does living in a sweatshirt all weekend. I'm taking a Trista-Day today and have no plans to remove this hoodie I have on at the moment! Happy Weekend!

  32. What are your outfits for your christmas card pics? We are getting ours done for the first time this year (since our wedding) and I'm going back and forth with what we should wear.

  33. Yes to all the things. That sweatshirt looks so cute and super comfy and I think the lettermate thing is awesome, but don't know that I'd actually do it. Can't wait to see your Christmas card pics! Hope you guys get to feeling better! xo

  38. I've had those UGG slippers since college and they are amazing! However, "slipper" is a loose term. I call them shoes and where them everywhere! I mean, they have a sole so surely they were meant to be worn out of the house!

  40. So I don't have those Ugg slippers, but I have these ones: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ugg-australia-genuine-shearling-slipper-women/2836854?origin=category-personalizedsort&contextualcategoryid=0&fashionColor=Chestnut&resultback=1284 and they are THE BEST slippers that I have ever owned. I've owned them for 6 years I think and they are just now getting worn down in the inside heel area. They keep my feet toasty and have been 100% worth the money! I was looking at getting the style you like for an updated pair. Would highly recommend!
