Get the Look: Autumn Beauty Trends

I'm a firm believer in the fact that we should change up our skincare/makeup products when fall and winter (ew) roll around.  Goodbye to the days of beachy hair, bronze skin and white nail polish.  I know, sad face.  But there is good news!  Fall beauty is just as fabulous, especially this year.  2015 trends include metallic lids, black eyeliner and 'goth' lips, just to name a few.  These looks below may be straight from the runway, but it's totally possible to recreate each of them at home for not a lot of money.  Check it out...

Winged Eyeliner via Oscar de la Renta
Black eyeliner was huge on the runway this year.  Winged, floating, double lined or smoky, there was a little bit of everything.  Recreate this Oscar de la Renta look with a combo of kohl eyeliner straight across the top of the lid and a liquid eyeliner over top to hold and create the wing.

Blush Flush via Palmer//Harding
Natural skin is coming up in a big way this fall.  Put away the contouring tools and bring on clear skin with a healthy looking flush.  Go easy on the heavy foundation and use a combination of highlighing tools and rose or peach colored blush to give yourself the appearance of glowing skin.  Drinking lots of water helps, too!

Metallic Lids via Mara Hoffman
I think I'm personally most excited for this trend - metallic lids look great on everyone, no matter your skin tone, work well for both day & evening and are just so pretty.  Bring on the bronze and gold shimmery lids!

The Low Pony via Christian Dior
Talk about the least fuss beauty trend!  Low ponytails are super easy, but still appear quite sophisticated.  Wear them straight down your back or to the side as pictured above; bonus points for decorative hair accents like pretty clips or headbands because those are in for the season, too.

Goth Lips via Emanuel Ungaro
Not just the usual dark lips that are trendy every fall... but goth/vampire/almost black lips.  Since it's a strong look, it's best paired with a natural face and nude eye makeup. I'm also loving it with the unexpected beachy waves shown here.

  1. The metallic lids = yes please! I love them. I'm also a huge fan of winged eyeliner, but I seriously suck at making them look even remotely right. Haha.

My hubs despises lipstick. I can see me coming home with goth lips one day - he'd die.

  24. I really like the flushed look. Something about it just makes a person look so alive. I hope it can cool down here in Southern California. :]
