The Laziest of Weekends

This weekend was awesome.  I had a friends baby shower on Saturday afternoon, but otherwise we had no where to be, no plans, no schedules.  JUST what we finally needed after a really crazy, nonstop summer/fall so far!  Not to mention, this coming weekend is Homecoming, so all of our friends will be coming into stay with us.  Basically we need to rest ahead of time and that is exactly what we did over the last couple of days!

Friday night, we went out for pizza and then came home to our new couch that we L-O-V-E and watched a couple episodes of Lost before heading to bed on time.  We were up early the next morning so I could get ready for the shower which was an hour and a half away, and Nick got to work on painting our upstairs guest bathroom.  We went with Benjamin Moore's White Dove and I'm so excited about decorating an all white bathroom.

The baby shower was super cute - the theme was fall so there were lots of pumpkins and mums everywhere and the best candy apples for dessert.  I wish I would have taken pictures, but it's kind of nice to just be in the moment sometimes, you know?

Afterwards, I headed home and straight to the couch for the big Michigan vs. Michigan State game.  My dad has always been a huuuge Michigan fan so naturally we are too now.  If you follow college football at all, you probably heard about this game because it was insane but basically Michigan was ahead the entire time and then with 15 seconds left, fumbled the ball and MSU scored and won the game.  It was brutal.  I didn't even text my dad to see how he was doing because I just knew he was probably having a meltdown, ha!

We rallied after the game for dinner at a nearby restaurant where I had the most amazing salmon that you may have seen on Instagram.  Also basically my only picture I took this entire weekend ;)

Sunday was for grocery shopping, finishing up painting the bathroom, Brady walks, baked chicken tacos, naps and watching the Detroit Lions win their first game of the year against the Bears!  A perfect day.  A perfect weekend actually - it was so nice to relax and go at our own pace for the first weekend in a long time.  Looking forward to this week though, it's supposed to be beautiful weather and of course, getting ready to see all of our friends when they come into town on Friday!  5 days to go... :)

  13. This was our first low key weekend in so long too and it was just as amazing – so nice to be home! Ugh, we were really pulling for you guys to win that game – Michigan is our last home game of the season so we were hoping for a big matchup but then we lost Saturday too haha.

  29. Chill weekends are always nice!

Ugh, that Michigan game. My brother in laws came down to watch it with us, and being huge Michigan fans, it was a heart breaker. My husband kept on saying 'I think I'm going to be sick" over and over again. Haha poor boys!
