The Top 5 Things I Ate This Weekend

My life

Remember that time when I said we had big plans for the weekend to work on house projects?  Oh yeah, that was this weekend... except that didn't happen.  At all.  Our friend Dane (that just got married a couple of weeks ago) came to stay with us instead and our weekend ended up being a lot more fun.  Unfortunately the weather wasn't super fun - it was literally in the 40's and rainy all. weekend. long.  So what are 3 kids to do when the weather is nasty and we have no set plans?  Eat and drink of course, with a little college hockey game thrown in there for good measure!

Without further ado, the top 5 things I consumed this weekend...

FIVE | Pepper Shots
So these were... interesting.  I'm going to go ahead and include them just because I LOVE PICKLES.  These were vodka infused with jalapeno peppers and washed down with the pickle.  Not that good, but three rounds of them still managed to happen on our way to the hockey game (why???).

FOUR | Papa John's pizza
Does this even need any explanation?  Pure greasy goodness for the slightly hungover/stayed up too late/dying on Sunday crowd.

via, since I forgot to save my Snapchat picture of mine!

THREE | Ace's Pineapple Cider
Mmm, this stuff was amazing.  I'd never even heard of it until this weekend, but now I'm already feigning for more!  It's pineapple flavored cider and it really is quite pineapple-y, even the smell.  It's sweeter than your traditional cider and I loved it.

TWO | Mexican food
We ate all of the Mexican food on our Friday night date night.  It was tapas style so we tried a bunch of different dishes and none of them disappointed.  Margs, table side guac (the best), tequila chicken quesadilla's, pork tamales, fish tacos... yum!

ONE | Trader Joe's Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches
Holy crap, these things are the bomb (does anyone still say that?) - soooo good.  Next time you're at Trader Joe's, do yourself a favor and try these.  And then come back and thank me :)

That about sums up the weekend!  Other than that, we visited the dog park a couple of times, watched Fear the Walking Dead, did a LOT of laying around on the couch, hung out with our neighbors, and went running on Saturday morning.  Thank goodness after this feasting... haha.  What were you guys up to?!

  8. I'm so glad to see that through blogland we all had the same idea for a nasty, rainy weekend: eat and drink all the things! We ordered pizza one night, Jimmy johns the next, and Chinese last night. #ForShame! I've seen those cookie sandwiches but haven't ever tried them! That needs to change STAT!

  9. YES I say everything is the bomb haha! Those ice cream sandwiches are good, I can vouche for that, but those pickles shots?! Omg no way! First of all, that sounds so spicy haha! I like the pickle part though. I like pickles in bloody marks. I knew a girl who used to drink all her beers with pickles in them? And we have a serious Papa Johns problem, so I'm glad I'm not the only one who eats those things haha.
