On My Radar

It's coming, Midwest.... the snow is coming :(  Along with the freezing cold for the next six months, so not ready but there's no denying that it's coming.  Saturday and Sunday here in West Michigan are calling for a high of 35 degrees and an 80% chance of snow each day.  The only thing that makes it slightly okay is that it's finally time to bust out the cold weather gear!  Cute hats and mittens, colorful scarves and comfy coats and boots do make me happy while the weather sucks.  Here are a few of my current faves and a couple of babies on my wishlist:

+ Fleece lined leggings by Hue... that's all that needs to be said.  Plus they're on sale, even better yet!

+ I'm a big fan of Kiehls products and this Ultra Facial Cream is perfect for protecting your skin on those blustery, cold days.  Ps. I have a post coming next month about how to cure the terrible dry skin that comes with winter.

+ I wear my Hunter boots all.winter.long.  They're just so easy to slip on, especially for quickly taking the dog out or grabbing the mail.  While they aren't the warmest, I'm thinking a pair of the fleece welly socks should help with that.

+ How cute is this pompom cable knit hat?  And for that price, sold!

+ I desperately need a pair of nice gloves - these Halogen Touch Tech cashmere gloves look heavenly AND you can operate your phone with them on!  They come in tons of different colors, too.

+ Something I never thought I would say again... I want a pair of Ugg boots.  I'm loving the look of the new Kara boot: a slimmer profile and a bit of a wedge.  So. Cute.

+ I picked up this Old Navy brushed flannel scarf this week and LOVE it!  The online picture just doesn't do the bright colors justice.  It's huge and warm and for only $20, I want to get all of the colors.

  1. I'm really curious about your winter skin care post. Mainly because I've been reading about the misrepresentation of ingredients in Kiehls. I'm trying to put the least amount of "extra" on my skin-same with my diet. Can't wait for your post!

Can't wait to get a pair of hue leggings-I need some more bottoms this winter and fleece lined sounds fabulous.

  2. Brrrr, cold weather. Super cute hat [I have one in white and love it] and fleece lined leggings are bombdotcom. I just received my Sorels and so am kind of looking forward to the next cold and rainy day so I can wear them.

  3. I used to love my ugg boots until someone said they made my feet look bigger. I hated wearing them after and gave them away. I felt that they were so thick and the extra padding made my feet look wider and longer haha. Looking. Forward to trying the new Kara boots out and see if they make my feet look normal haha

  5. I bought those exact fleece socks for my Hunters and they were a lifesaver! I could wear my boots to trek through all the snow and they kept my feet nice and cozy, definitely recommend! In love with that scarf I may have to scoop it up!

  6. While Uggs aren't the cutest (at all) they are the warmest boots I have ever owned! I definitely get my use out of them!

  11. Nooo. Say it ain't so. I don't think I'm ready for snow. :( But I'm loving all of your picks! Those gloves look really cute compared to most of the texting ones I've seen. Definitely interested in hearing about your winter skincare picks!

  12. I love your picks. And while I know the cold gets old after a while, I always wish FL had seasons so we can dress in all of the cute clothes!

  13. I want that beanie so bad! It's so cute but it doesn't really get cold enough down here to need a beanie. I need to go some place colder so I can have an excuse to buy all of this stuff! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  15. I love uggs!! They are so warm, I don't care how ugly they are, I still wear them. i have the hunter fleece liners and while they did make them warmer, they still weren't that warm. My feet froze all winter long in them last year. It was just so cold here. This year, I broke down and got a pair of Sorel's. Hopefully, my feet will thank me for them.

  19. I am dreading the weekend forecast - looks like it's going to be the same here, too! We are hoping to get our Christmas lights up Friday while it's sunny (but cold). I think those gloves are going to be a gift to myself, and I just bought a pair of cute fake Uggs from Costco for $30!

  21. Ohhh I didn't even think of putting fleece lined leggings on my list, but I need to get some of those ASAP. I love UGGs for the cold, they are so easy to throw on and I'm actually in the market to get some. Wearing my nice shoes to the park to take Kobi for walks is not something I want to do haha. x

  22. Ughh it's supposed to snow on Friday/Saturday here and I leave on Sunday, can't it just wait until I leave and then do what it wants?! Although I love dressing in my winter gear, not gonna lie. I need to get a pair of Hunters, but the original doesn't fit over my calves, so the Uggs are gonna have to bear through one last winter in the midwest! That scarf is gorgeous, I just picked up a similar one from Target and have been wearing it on major repeat!

  23. The white welly socks are amazing! I adore mine and highly recommend! I also got last year's version of the Halogen tech gloves, and they're the best, especially for the price!

  24. I would buy the hunter socks just to have them, they look so comfy! And while I think uggs are very warm boots it never gets cold enough to warrant wearing them here :(

  25. I love my hunter inserts!! I am also asking for uggs (mine are ten years old!?? I guess they were a good investment). It's funny because it's not that I think they are super cute it's just like...they are so comfortable and necessary LOL

  26. I love that cute winter hat and the scarf is so fun too!!

  27. You're right - that Old Navy scarf is even prettier in person!! I saw some super cute cable knit/pom pom hats at Wal-Mart this week. They were under $10, looked like great quality and they had an awesome color selection. Some even had fur pom poms. I bought several as gifts because I couldn't believe their quality/great prices. You'll have to check them out :)

  28. Hunters are great for snow in the winter!!! Other than not being warm, like you said... have you seen the cable knit socks?! ADORABLE!!!!

  29. I'm looking forward to your post about dry skin! Last year I had to deal with it for the first time every and this year already, my hands are starting to seem dry. I'm not sure why my skin has suddenly decided to get sensitive on me, haha!

  30. I have a new pair of ugg boots that I seriously can't wait to bust out!! That facial cream sounds amazing!! xo, Biana

  31. Those leggings are currently in my shopping cart! I have the worst dry skin in the winter! I will have to dry that face cream.

  32. Just saw today that on the Hunter website they have down boot socks....might be worth it for your kinda cold.

  33. I am loving cozy hats this year! So much better than having your hair blow everywhere AND it keeps your ears/head nice and warm. Plus I love the look on everyone!

  34. Oh man, I wish I could relate! (kinda) haha it doesn't snow where I live and the coldestit gets is MAYBE in the 40's so I don't get to enjoy big winter coats or anything fun. I LOVE that hat though!! The cute little pom pom :) and fleece leggings would actually be pretty nice! So so cute!

  35. Who doesn't love fleece leggings? no one!! I bet they are so comfy!! And those gloves would be SO nice instead of having to take off your gloves just to do something on your phone. And of course I love that scarf!
