The Lamest of Halloween Weekends

Happy Monday!  How were your weekends?  Hopefully better than ours - we may win for the lamest of Halloween weekends, all thanks to these dang colds that won't leave us alone :(

Friday was super low key as we just grabbed dinner and then went to Petco to pick up dog food and stock up on new toys for Brady.  He has recently started being super annoying at night - barking at us for attention and pulling at our blankets... turns out dogs experience teenage problems, too ;)  The key was getting him some new toys to entertain himself with and we were able to successfully binge watch some Lost without a barking dog for the first time in a while.  The little things!

After coughing the e-n-t-i-r-e night, I woke up on Halloween feeling like crap.  It was pouring rain and cold so we went out for breakfast and then I just had to go to urgent care to get some help aka meds.  Not the most fun way to spend the holiday, but we did get to take Brady to a dog Halloween party at a local pet store later that day and it was hilarious.  He wasn't a fan of his costume although he was in heaven around all of the people and other dogs!

Afterwards we went home to prepare for our trick-or-treaters.  Due to the crappy weather, we didn't have tons of them but we did make it through our candy so it's probably a good thing there weren't more.  We spent the rest of the night eating Spicy Tomato Soup and watching The Shining - my first time seeing the entire thing.  So creepy.

Sunday was our big picture day!  And thankfully they went so well.  We couldn't have asked for better weather - it was 60 degrees and sunny and just beautiful at the park we shot at.  Brady did pretty good, too... let's just say lots of treats were involved!  Can't wait to get them back later this week.

Speaking of this week - I'm ready for it.  The sun is shining, it's supposed to be 70 degrees allll week and I'm beyond ready to finally say goodbye to this cold that just won't quit.  Hope your Monday is off to a great start, too!

  12. Being sick on Halloween is no fun! Hope you’re feeling better today. We didn’t have any trick or treaters this year at all, fourth year running. I think our house must just be scary or something. Brady looks so cute in his t-shirt. Can’t wait to see the pictures!

  22. You poor thing, I'm sorry that you've been feeling so crummy! Ah, I remember the days when Finn wouldn't settle down at night. Let's face it - he still really doesn't, so we pretty much dedicate 8-9 p.m. as his playtime. :) Glad new toys did the trick for Brady, though. I can't wait to see your photos, you looked gorgeous!

  30. He is too cute! Sounds like a perfect Halloween weekend to me! My great danes did the same thing when they were teenagers. As crazy as it sounds, we used to turn out the lights and it helped him calm down. It was like he got overtired and hyper just like kids! Try Homegoods for dog toys too! They usually have a good selection at a fraction of Petco's price! My guys would go through all of the toys so fast!

  40. That stinks that you were sick for Halloween. I hope you're feeling tons better. if it wasn't for babysitting kids on that day, mine would have been pretty sucky too. As it is I've spent the last few days on my back because I have sciatica, which blows. I'd rather be at work.
