2016 Planners and Calendars For Under $60

Despite all the fancy technology we have these days, I will forever be a 'write it down' kind of girl.   I live and die by my old school planners and calendars.  We have a monthly calendar hanging in our kitchen to keep track of everything from Nick's business trips to weekend dinner plans, and I have my own little planner that I bring everywhere with me.  Since I like to throw it in my purse all the time, my main requirements are that it's on the smaller side, lightweight and of course, CUTE.

I've rounded up 9 of my favorite 2016 planners and calendars, and they're all under $60 so you don't have to break the bank.

Sugar Paper Classic Black Desk Calendar // Kate Spade 12 Month Planner // Sugar Paper for Target Blush Casebound Planner (I bought this one!) // Emily Ley Daily Simplified Planner // Sugar Paper for Target 2016 Paperboard Planner // Rifle Paper Co Garance Dore Wall Calendar // Henri Bendel Shopping Girl Pocket Journal //

  1. I'd add the paper source pool recycled leather planner. I paid about $29 and I love it. I've had the erin conference planner in the past and I had heard about some billing issues this year. Therefore, I went with the paper source until those issues were resolved and plan on going back to them for my calendar next year.

I will say, I've also not been impressed with Emily ley. Lots of complaints about paper thickness. I checked it out myself and do agree. I have a terrible time with my iPhone calendar and need a paper one, so unfortunately or fortunately, I'm well versed in this area.

Oh, I've also had good luck with the Martha Stewart build your own from staples.

    Good list otherwise!!

  4. These are all so awesome!! I love a good desk calendar and I'm pretty happy with my smaller gold one that I use from PaperSource - it was $20 and runs until the end of next year! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  7. Perfect! I think I'm going to go with the Day Designer for Target planner again - mine runs until June 2016 but they already have full-year 2016 ones on sale so I may go ahead and snag it -- I already have work events I'm planning for well into next November. Thanks for sharing, girlfriend!

  8. Paper planners forever and ever amen! I usually get an expensive Day Designer or Erin Condran one but this year I just went with a Sugar Paper for Target one! The others are just too bulky and heavy and I've got to cut back on some of the sh*t I carry around to make room for this baby and it's stuff lol!!

  19. I tried using a planner but I still go back to my calendar app in my phone. I did pick up a Sugar Paper monthly calendar that has a big notes section to plan blog posts. That I CAN do!!

  23. I am so with you!!! I hate using my phone calendar other than reminders and since I carry it in my purse, I need it to be lighter. I've been getting a May Designs planner the last 3 years and love it! Love all the gold ones you picked, especially that Kate Spade stripped one.

  26. Oh I love planners too! I need to have everything written down or I will completely forget. I love the one you bought...adorable! I got an Erin Condren a few months ago and love it even though it was quite pricey :/

  27. I'm with you! I still love the hard copy and then I keep it as a yearly keepsake.

  28. I tried to rely solely on my phone calendar for a year and I couldn't do it....so I went back to mainly paper. I have a Brittany Fuson one, you have to check her out. I love it because it's lightweight and stylish and yes, fits in my purse just like you require too!

  29. i never thought i would be a write it down girl, but i have been using a planner for almost 2 years now and love it! i never remembered anything putting it in my phone, writing it down definitely helps!

  30. Loving all these options! I found both my new desk calendar and planner at tjmaxx - can't beat the prices!

  31. I love writing down in an actual planner, too. I don't feel like scrolling through a bunch of crap to get to the date I want to see... I just want to flip to it immediately - or see the whole month listed rather than just dots on your iPhone calendar to tell you that something has been planned, lol

  32. Paper planner people unite!! I LOVE my planner and it's my favorite Christmas gift every year. I always go with the Gallery Leather weekly calendars you can find at TJ Maxx or bookstores. They fit in my bag, aren't bulky and are no more than $15. I've used them for 10+ years :) I love all of the gold options you mentioned.

  33. One of my kids has the Kate Spade polka dot planner and it's held up REALLY well. I'm super impressed with it... but I swear by my day designer right now!! I wish I had the patience to update a monthly calendar... I always have these great ideas to do it and keep myself on track, lol..

  34. Ah! I'm so glad you made this list! I CANNOT decide which one I want for 2016. I have the Plum Planner now and love it but it's so big. I want one that smaller, has the same pages and has a pocket in it. I'm leaning towards Sugar Paper though I don't know that any of them have a pocket inside.

  35. ME TOO! I love, love, love paper planners and calendars. I got a Rifle appointment calendar, and then I have an Emily Ley planner and an UPStudio planner. Great picks here, though! xo, Champagne&Suburbs
