Baby Girl Nursery Inspiration

I'm SO excited to finally have gotten my vision for the nursery nailed down and to share it with you guys today!  I went back and forth for so long on doing a neutral nursery to work for any future children or just to go all out in pink girly gloriousness.  It wasn't until I stumbled upon this first image on Pinterest that my mind was made up.  As soon as I laid eyes on that wall color, the artwork, the chandelier - I was dying over it all and my mind was immediately made up.

Through some Internet stalking, I was able to determine that the paint color in the above picture was Sherwin William's Intimate White.  After a sample went up beautifully on our walls (always sample!!), we finally said goodbye to the black glow-in-the-dark handprints and hello to the sweetest baby pink.

Our next order of business was the big furniture.  A crib, dresser, and glider.  I had no doubts in my mind that I wanted to go with the IKEA Hemnes 8 drawer dresser because you simply can't beat that price.  We purchased these pulls instead and it's going to look awesome.  The glider was probably the thing I was most picky on.  We're going to be spending a LOT of time in that thing so I wanted it to be comfortable.  And cute of course ;)  After tons of testing, we decided on the Kersey Glider in Linen.  While it does recline, I am also going to get one of these Moroccan poufs to use as a foot rest.

For our crib, we went to Pottery Barn Kids and brought home the Emerson crib.  Well.  We went to set it up this weekend and did NOT like it.  Their white color is called 'cloud white' and what that means in our house... an off white that looks more like a dirty gray.  We were so bummed so it was back to the drawing board.  I'm leaning towards this DaVinci Jenny Lind crib now- anyone have it?  It's half the price so I really can't complain about that and it's a true white.

The rest of the room will start to come together once we have those big pieces in place.  My initial light fixture crush hangs too low for our 8 foot ceilings, so I'm planning on order this beautiful flush mount instead.  I'm majorly crushing on this Lulie Wallace print, but why must it be so expensive?!  Still waiting for this rug to go on sale and I love this little side table with this lamp.  Can't even wait to start putting everything together - I think it's going to be the sweetest room in the house!

  1. Your inspiration photos are so beautiful! Bummer about the crib color not working out. The DaVinci one looks like the one I had as a baby (and that we'll have for our future kids) so I'm partial to that! :)

  9. Love your inspiration, so so pretty!! We have that Jenny Lind crib and I highly recommend it, the quality is just as good as other cribs we looked at and it converts to a toddler bed!

  18. I love the Lulie! She has a few print options if you didn't want to go with original piece - much more manageable prices. I have one of her prints in my office right now! :)

  20. I LOVE the inspo and the paint color! I cannot wait to see the finished space! I have heard great things about the Jenny Lind crib too! I love PBK but every piece furniture I have bought from there has been a big let down, so I think you may the right choice :)

  21. Your inspiration is beautiful! We had the DaVinci brand crib but not that same style. Word of advice though - if you do plan on transitioning it to a toddler bed go ahead and purchase the toddler rails if it doesn't already come with it. Ours had been discontinued and the rails we ended up getting didn't match.

  32. That is some good pin-spiration- pink but still neutral and not over the top. I love those poufs too and I'm sure it's going to turn out amazing... however you make me nervous with furniture that doesn't end up working. I'm sure I'll go through that too in our new house!!

  37. I have seen that nursery on Pinterest several times and love it! You have such a great vision! My friend's sister in law is an artist, and a lot of her work reminds me of Lulie Wallace. Her name is Caroline Boykin! Not sure of all her pricing, but you may want to check her out!

  38. I love this nursery inspiration post! And that Lulie Wallace picture is too good! Good for you for forking over the money for a recliner. I have to tell you, that with #3 I really want one. Of course, then my husband is going to be like is it worth it? After how many restless nights spent trying to sleep in our rocking chair I can say YES! And totally random, but I found one at Costco yesterday for $350! I like yours much better though! But, I couldn't believe how cute it was! It was khaki upholstered glider! Not at all LAZY Boy looking! Can't wait to see the nursery reveal!

  39. So, I really love pom pom curtains and have seriously considered buying some for our apartment because... why not. They're so cute!! In regards to cribs, I have already decided that my nonexistent children will sleep in Jenny Lind cribs/beds. Such a classic piece of furniture!
