Confessions

Image via

How cozy does this bed look?  It's the kind of bed you just want to crawl into and never get out of.  I figured it was an appropriate image to kick off this post, considering I am actually in bed right now.  It's 4pm, my pajamas are on and I've been in here for a couple hours now - even just woke up from a nap, ha!  Gotta get that sleep in while I still can ;)  A few other little confessions for your Wednesday ...

I confess that I'm so annoyed with Gap Maternity.  I've had my eye on a few pieces to purchase when my Gap Cash began and when I went to place my order yesterday, I found out that most of them won't ship for a couple of months!  Like this top - a great basic and I wear my regular one all the time so I know it would get me through the spring, but it won't ship until May 23rd.  I'll pretty much be done with my pregnancy by then (I hope)!  Even basic tees are the same way - so weird.

I confess that I'm intrigued by the micellar water concept.  Is this something we should really be doing to help our skin, or is it just another marketing product?  Anyone use it?

I confess that I hate when we don't have a show to binge watch.  We recently finished Lost and then flew through Making a Murderer, but now we have nothing.  I feel like we've watched all the good stuff!

I confess that I'm most worried about losing my sleep when the baby is here this summer.  I really, really love sleeping and am one of those people that functions best on 9-10 hours a night.  I know that's NOT going to be happening (like at all) and I'm just so worried I'm going to be a grumpy, tired person zombie all the time.

I confess that after the Bachelor date at McDonald's on Monday nights episode (poor Amanda), we made our own breakfast sandwiches.  Like 5 minutes after we saw them on TV, I had Nick in the kitchen whipping up egg/cheese/bagel sandwiches and they were SO GOOD.  Even if it was 10pm at night ;)

I confess that I'm beyond happy that one piece swimsuits are in for this summer!  I definitely think I'll be rocking a few and already have my eye on this one, I mean the scallops!  Target does it again.  Also need this hat.  Is it summer yet?

I confess that despite the sky high price tag, I really want this rug for the nursery.  Even though the room is carpeted, so a rug would be a splurge in the first place.  Fingers crossed I can catch a good sale.

That's all I've got for today - what about you guys?!  Happy confessing!

  1. The rug is beautiful! I hope it goes on sale :) About the micellar water I use the Simple Micellar water and I really like it. I use it if I need to quickly remove my makeup or I want to "wash" my face before working out. Sometimes cleansing my face before working out and again afterwards is a little too much. The Micellar water is a nice in between product but doesn't replace my cleanser.

  2. Ugh I want to be in that bed right now! I use micellar water but honestly, I haven't noticed a change in my skin. And 9-10 hours of sleep?! Dang girl, I'm jealous. I haven't gotten more then 7 hours of sleep in years! Loving that scalloped edge bathing suit! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  3. I use Micellar water to remove make-up and cleanse my face...my skin is looking better after about 4 months of continuous use. I've changed my diet too though so maybe it's that that's helping my skin also

  4. That bed looks heavenly! I've been using Micellar water for awhile, mainly because I am always testing out and investigating products with little to no chemicals. I like it pretty good and it helps get off all the make up.

  5. That bed does look heavenly and staying in PJs all day sounds similar to me yesterday since we had a day off because of the snow/ice we'd gotten the other day. So nice to just relax for the day.
Our friends who just had twins are tired, but they said it's the best kind of tired. And the mom is like you--LOVES sleep, and couldn't function without at least 8-10. She's making it work so far on 3ish right now (they also have twins). I think your body will adjust and you'll get used to it on some level, but Im sure it'll be an adjustment.

  6. I've learned to live on less sleep over the last few months but what I'm really bad at is being jarred awake when I think I should still be sleeping. I get really snappy!! My husband is worried too, lol! Love love love that scalloped swimsuit from Target, too!!

  7. I'm super intrigued by the micellar water concept too! Sorry to hear that Gap Maternity has so many items on backorder, you'd think they would know they only have a certain time window for people to need those items and would keep them stocked more timely. And YUM to your breakfast sandwiches after watching the Bachelor. I hate McDonalds, but I will always cave for an egg white delight <3

  9. I was in love with that same rug for Odette's nursery as well. Then I came to the sad realization that it was out of our budget and found a really pretty one on One Kings Lane. Can't wait to see how you decorate the nursery!

  10. Hope you get the rug! We have not started anything for the nursery, at all! That suit is adorable! I'll be lucky to find a nice maternity one, Gap is pretty much lame for not shipping for months! Happened to me the other day as well!

  11. That picture! I definitely want to crawl in that pic for a couple more hours. :) So annoying about Gap maternity! A couple months delay is ridiculous for a bump thats constantly growing. Ha ridiculous!

  12. That bed looks heavenly! I am a person that needs 8-10 hours of sleep and since having my twin boys I'm somehow functioning 5 sometimes less. Your body just adjusts.. some how someway. Don't ask me because I felt the same way you do. I ordered some things from gap maternity and in my experience everything was on backorder but I ended up getting them in about 3-4 weeks. Not sure why but thought it was weird too. Good luck!

  13. I'm the same way with sleep, I need a certain amount of hours otherwise, I'm not pleasant to be around-haha You will definitely have to take advantage of nap times and sleeping when the baby sleeps. Hopefully you'll be blessed with a baby that sleeps really well during the night, mine unfortunately woke up every 2 hours like clock work.

  14. I hear you on the sleep thing! I tell my husband the same thing, I don't think I can function on so little sleep!

  15. MONTHS for Gap arrivals?! That's nuts!!!!! No shame in a 4pm pajama game... I would totally be there if I was you. :) LOVE that rug... I can't wait to see what your nursery looks like... because that is seriously GORGEOUS!!

  16. That bed does look cozy! I would have been super annoyed about those Gap items, too! We have been watching Community but it's not super great, so we don't binge watch it very fast...maybe I'll start another show once we move. I love my sleep too so that will for sure be an adjustment when the baby comes!

  17. I've been using Micellar water as a cleanser and love it. It's really gentle, but still cleans my face. I rotate it with a cream cleanser just to mix it up, though.

  18. That is so weird about Gap! Especially the maternity clothing - hello, pregnant women have a time limit on this stuff! That scallop bathing suit from Target is so cute, and we are in the same boat with shows to binge!

  19. I'm always up for a great breakfast sandwich :) Have you ever looked at Rugsusa.com They've got a great selection, offer regular sales and I've been impressed with my purchases from them. Maybe you could find something similar for cheaper?? I also like the basic t's from Motherhood. They seem to be thicker than other brand, hold up really well and don't lose their shape. Sorry to hear that GAP is so s-l-o-w. Ain't nobody got time for that :)

  20. I love you all made a breakfast sandwich - I totally wanted one when they were eating that Egg McMuffin myself :)
I've heard so many new moms say that same thing about sleep - you'll adjust. Its natures way to make mom's tough like that :)

  21. Nothing like a good breakfast sandwich. I'm watching Graceland on Netflix, it's pretty good. I haven't used a micellar water yet but I want to. I just don't know if it would be enough to remove all my makeup especially my eye makeup.

  22. We are about to finish binge watching Blue Bloods and we feel the same way! When we realized we only had a few episodes left, we were like what the heck are we going to watch next? I think we're going to give Parenthood a try! LOVE that scalloped bathing suit!!

  23. We were in the same predicament and then started watching Better Call Saul. I didn't know it is actually pre-breaking bad time. If you liked BB check it out!!!

  24. My husband is like you, he really needs his sleep, but two years later he's somewhat accustomed to getting less sleep. But that bed looks sooo comfortable to sleep in right now.

  25. I'm obsessed with Elementary right now! Got to love those crime dramas - and the main characters are so funny.

  26. So frustrating about Gap! That is such a long time to ship, not just a couple of weeks (which would still be annoying, haha). Did you guys watch Narcos? It was one of my favorite shows from last year. I haven't tried micellar water either, but am definitely intrigued too!

  27. We finished The Office this past weekend and now we have no clue what to watch! My husband wants to start LOST but isn't ready to get back into a series quite yet. I'm dying to start Downton Abbey but I've got to catch up on Teen Mom first lol I'll be very interested to see how the sleeping with baby here goes. I literally can't function - my body shuts down if I don't get enough sleep so I'm slightly worried how I'll end up with a newborn lol Love the new one-piece styles! I might need to test them out again since the last time I wore them was elementary school and they never fit right because I'm so tall.

  28. I hated Gap Maternity this past year. Everything was so sheer and just kind of "not maternity like". I even may have complained to the sales lady bc I was crabby and needed clothes. She told me to go to Carsons! I bought most of my wardrobe at Destination Maternity and Target. Only places I could really find great clothes!

Yes, the sleep comes and goes. Every one says to sleep when the baby sleeps, but my girl doesn't sleep that much. And when she does, its usually when I am cooking or in the shower. You will survive:) My husband is a 9-10 hour guy, and he is making it. And if need be, have someone come over so you can sleep-I have had days where I wanted to do that. Haven't yet, but tempted to:)

  29. Girl, sleep is my number one concern about kids. I've already told my husband that we will need a night nanny, because I really need my sleep.
I've been told that you adjust after a while, but I don't know... I guess all mom's make is work!

  30. I've been binge watching Greek again and then can't wait until Fuller House is on soon!

Didn't realize one pieces were making their way back. Interesting!!

  31. Rugs in general are so expensive!! I've been looking at them too, kinda crazy! That one pieces is seriously SO pretty- get ittttt! :)

  32. Ha I just tried that hat on today! It didn't fit my giant head :( I love that bathing suit! And that rug is SO dreamy! I love a layered rug on carpet look ;) I am a total sleeper and cannot function with it, so I always had to give up my free time and just nap when the babies did. It was literally the only way I could survive!

  33. ummm wtf with gap maternity? that is so stupid! don't they know pregnancy kind of has a deadline and people ordering things need them asap?
good luck with not losing sleep with the baby! maybe you will have a baby that sleeps a lot? :)
okay i don't honestly know about micellar water - i got some (garnier) and it helps take my makeup off, i didn't know there were other benefits lol

  34. I'm so curious about micellar water too! That is so crazy about Gap Maternity-makes no sense to me!

  35. I've tried micellar water and honestly, it was a dud for me. I'd rather wash my face. It just reminds me of makeup wipes and I never feel really clean when I use those, y'know?
Not wanting to lose sleep is one of the major reasons I don't want to have kids, LMAO No joke! I feel you on that one! lol

  36. Have you watched The Jinx yet? A lot like Making a Murderer and it's super good!

    1. Oh and the sleep thing - you'll TOTALLY get used to it! I used to be the same way as you, and now I get 4-5 hours per night. If you decide to sleep train your baby (we don't believe in that, but to each their own!!! :) ) then you will prob get more sleep!

  37. oh man im not going to lie...the whole no sleep thing is ROUGH. are you staying home with the baby? if you are really try to nap when she naps (i know everyone will tell you that... and you will want to do a million other things but it does help to sneak in some zz's!) and eventually you will realize you can function on SO much less sleep. i used to love my 9 hrs of sleep and now im happy if i get 6 or 7! plus waking up to an adorable baby helps you forget about all that sleep stuff xo jillian - cornflake dreams

  38. I hate when we don't have a show to binge watch - like start to panic! LOVE that you made the breakfast sandwiches after The Bachelor haha I could have definitely gone for one after that!

  39. Check H&M for maternity. I loved some of their stuff. Also, I love sleep. Love it. I'm the person that could nap anywhere at anytime. Yet I produce terrible sleepers, and somehow I have learned to function on minimal amounts. Don't stress, you will survive. Also, the new OJ miniseries is awesome. You won't be able to binge watch it next, but it's so good!

  40. I've been using the micellar water and honestly don't notice a HUGE change or anything, but it's great to get the leftover makeup and gunk off your face. I've been binging on Gilmore Girls, but don't know what I'll be doing after that's over, hopefully new series get added soon! I can't imagine not getting my sleep, I'm an avid napper so when I have kids that will be a huge adjustment for me, but I'm sure it will all be worth it!

  41. That swimsuit IS super cute! And the Bachelor date at McDees seemed forced. Product placement, much? Ha!

I know what you mean about having a show to watch! I did Gilmore Girls, Friends, and One Tree Hill last year. All winners! I'm watching Lie To Me right now and really liking it! :)

  42. We have been without a binge show for a few weeks now and it's killing me! What are some of your favorites? Ours have been Dexter, Parenthood, Peaky Blinders, Downton Abbey (great to compare with Peaky, since they show two VERY different sides of England during the time period), Scandal, and Bloodline.

  43. A few things--I hear the water works AMAZING! so I am picking some up. Also- I am afraid of the same thing when I get pregnant- I NEED at least 8 hours of sleep...I am so afraid of what I'll be like! I am re-watching Breaking Bad with my husband because we love it so much haha..but I hear you on the binge watching. Also- check out Rugs USA...I've purchased 3 area rugs from them and have been very impressed. Great quality, quick shipping, and really good prices--they always have coupon codes and deals!

  44. Ugh I miss my sleep so much!! I was the same way about sleep pre baby and since having Oliver I'm feeling pretty good if I can 6-7 hours. In the beginning you'll get broken up sleep since the baby wakes up every 2 hours. That's if they have their days and nights right, if not then you might want to start sleeping during the day! But I promise it will get better and you also learn to function off less sleep!

    ReplyDelete
  45. That really stinks about the Gap Maternity. I was planning on ordering a few things from them!

  46. Just found your blog and would love if you linked up to my Wednesday Confessions post tomorrow!!!

I am bummed to hear some of the stuff at Gap Maternity isn't available. I am 14 1/2 weeks pregnant and in no need of real maternity wear, but I am looking online for cute stuff since its hard to come by. Where have you found the best clothes??

Hope you stop by my blog as well!
