March Goals

Image via

It's March... and all of a sudden June doesn't seem so far away!  15 weeks or less until this baby is here - which blows my mind - and there is so. much. to. do.  I thought this was the most appropriate time to bring back my monthly goals posts because I need to get crap done and sharing with you guys holds me accountable!  So without further ado, here's what I NEED to get done in the month of March...

Get a Michigan Drivers License | We've lived here for a year and a half and I've yet to switch over my drivers license from Illinois.  Pretty sure it's actually not valid anymore so this needs to get done ASAP.  I just hate the DMV, blah.

Book Babymoon | Yay, a fun one!  I have a doctors appointment in a couple of weeks and I plan on talking to her more about this Zika virus and what she thinks about where is safe.  I'd love to go somewhere warm because the beach is my happy place, but even just getting away locally for a weekend with Nick is really important to me.

Finish Baby Registry | The shower is quickly approaching and the invites are going out soon, so I have to finish up the registry.  It's just seriously overwhelming!

Find a Shower Dress | Along the same lines, I need a dress to wear for my shower.  I love this one and while this one isn't maternity, I wonder if I could still pull it off ala Pink Peonies?

Register for Baby Classes & Find a Pediatrician | These two goals are actually doctors orders.  By my next appointment, I have to sign up for baby classes, a hospital tour and have a pediatrician picked out.

Continue Taking Care of my Skin | I really don't want to jinx things, but I think I've got the hormonal acne/breakouts under control.  This cream and serum have both been game changers and I want to keep up with monthly facials until she is here because it makes THE biggest difference in my skin.  I mean, I have lots of pictures coming up!  (That reminds me I need to find a newborn photographer, too...)

Buy a New Computer | Ughhhh.  Ours is about to die, literally any second so it's time to finally bite the bullet and get a new one.  While we've always had great luck with Toshiba's or Dell's, I'm considering splurging on a Macbook this time.

Decide on a Car Seat | I'm so torn on the car seat issue.  I LOVE the Nuna Pipa because of how lightweight it is and the sleek style, but I'm wondering if I should go with a Chico or Britax because they seem to be considered the two safest brands.  But they both weigh so flippin' much.  I just need to decide already and buy one.

Read 5 Books | I have a stack of books I'm dying to read, but just haven't been making the time to do so lately.  I want to pick up a couple of baby/parenting books as well since I need all the studying I can get in, haha.  This one comes highly recommended - what else should I get into?

So yep, that's what I'll be doing this month!  Off to get busy!

  1. I hate the DMV too, it's the worst. Here in FL if you don't switch over your license within 10 days and you get pulled over you get a ticket. How ridiculous, right? And yay for babymoon and shower! So fun! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  2. I just wrote out my goals yesterday too! I need to change my DL also. We have lived in our new home over 2 years and I still haven't. I hate having to go as well! My husband works in law enforcement and he told me I can get a huge fine for it, so I need to change it asap lol. So, I guess that is on my list also! Have a great rest of the week!

  3. You can totally pull of that dress, lady!

Woohoo babymoon, I know it will be nice just to get away for a little while. Fingers crossed you get to go somewhere warm!

  4. Ahhh the DMV!!! It's awful, just straight torture. I hope your experience is less torturous!

  5. The driver's license switch is the worst! I put mine off as long as possible when I moved to Massachusetts. I definitely recommend investing in a mac, I'm still using one I got for my 18th birthday (so almost 8 years ago!) it's a little slow by now but everything still runs great! Good luck with all the baby things :)

  6. Totally think you could pull off the Pink Peonies inspired dress. Super cute and would showcase an adorable bump nicely:) Good luck getting your license renewed. I have to do that in a couple of months and I've heard it's easier to become a US citizen than to get a license renewed these days. Kidding, lol. But seriously, I've heard it's a pain. Looking forward to hearing more baby updates!

  7. I can't wait to see what you do for the baby moon. I need to update my license with my new last name... but UGH... DMV. Love that pink dress!!

  8. Macbooks are definitely worth it. I know they are expensive upfront, but I've only had 2 in like 10 years and the only reason I got the second one was because I wanted the fancy new slim silver one haha - seriously though, they are great and I've never once had an issue with them ;) So excited for you - June is going to be here before you know it! I feel the same way about our wedding...it seemed so far off, but now Oct is only 7 months - yikes! :)

  9. Those dresses are beautiful! I haven't heard anything else about Zika in FL but the bugs are starting to come out. My SIL lives in Ft Lauderdale and her pregnant friends are thinking of coming up to your area for the summer!! It's nuts! I'm no dr but I feel like the SC/NC areas would be alright - you could do a Charleston/beach thing. I'll be interested to see what computer you get - my mouse pad just died so I don't think mine is too far off. My sister got a great deal on a MAC at Christmas and loves it!

  12. I went with the Chicco KeyFit! It had the best safety ratings like you mentioned and it said it was the best for compact cars, which Nathan and I both have! My first shower is NEXT weekend and I have yet to find a dress, eeek! I've got to get on that. Good luck with your goals!

  13. That pink dress is amazing and would look so great with your hair color! I have had both the Chicco and the Britax and the Britax is MUCH heavier, but it got us through a really bad car accident safely. Also, they're really only going to be carried around in those for six months or so. When she can hold her head up and sit up really well you will more than likely carry her out of it... just a thought!

  14. Love both of those baby shower dresses! We have the Britax and the heaviness isn't terrible Once he was bigger I just carried him in and out of it anyways.

  15. OMG that pink dress is so cute! I like the white one too, but how fun is the bright pink?!?! I just got way too excited over that lol.

  16. Good luck with your goals!!

If you haven't read any of Liane Moriarty's books, I recommend checking them out. All of them are so good!

  17. So much excitement coming up! Reading your blog makes me excited for what could be me in the next year (I hope :) )
You should check out my latest post on the new skin care line I am using. I know you said you are happy with yours but this could be worth a look! (mostly because it's incredibly affordable and organic!)
Have fun finishing up all of your baby to dos!

  18. Babymoon and all things baby shower will be so exciting!! Enjoy the new computer - I love the macbook but have also just fell in love with the mac desktop too! (our macbook's photo stopped working after like 4ish years but still works other than that so we went the desktop route to balance out!)

  19. I hated when we moved states - I had to take the written drivers test again. I totally failed! I had to get the stupid book & read over it. Ricky passed it on the first time. I never hear the end of this :)

  20. Ugh, the DMV is ridiculous! I started going to smaller nearby towns so I didn't have to wait as long. Yay for babymoons and baby showers! My sister has the Chicco Key-fit and loves it!

  21. Such an exciting time for you!

I'd say splurge on the Macbook! I bought mine a little over 2 years ago and love it!

  22. Sounds like you'll need to pump iron for muscles to carry baby, no matter which seat you pick!! Good luck with goals!

  23. you'll be fine no matter what car seat you get ;) they are all safe so get the one you want! i think you would look amazing in that ingrid & isabel dress :)

  25. Ahhh you're so close! And yay for babymoon planning! From everything I've read/heard from my doctor, that stupid zika virus is only dangerous during your 1st trimester. Also, look into a cruise because you're usually back on the boat once night time comes around and not on land with the bugs that come out at dusk. My cousin's wife just entered her 3rd trimester, and they're currently on a cruise to Mexico and Central America. Happy planning!! <3

  26. You can rock either of those dresses!! Ahh so exciting!! The last few months FLY by with all of the planning that needs to be done! You're getting so close!

  27. That maternity dress is insane, and it should be yours. As far as parenting books, I've heard great things about Moms On Call...which would assist you in your love of sleep!

  28. Just to be Pro-DMV, Adam and I went on Tuesday to get our Kentucky licenses and it was really, really, really easy. Not saying that will be your experience, but it took like 5 minutes. So maybe it won't be so bad?

  29. Love all of your goals! What an exciting time for you guys :) We have an iMac and I love it!

  30. I loooove my MacBook! So many fun and big things on the horizon for you--so awesome. Are those the invites you chose? They are SO pretty!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ugh, the whole Zika virus thing is super inconvenient! I'm curious what your doctor tells you! Hopefully you'll be able to go somewhere warm since you love the beach so much. But either way, some sort of baby moon will be great! :)

Good luck picking out your new laptop and baby car seat. Choices, choices!

  32. I cannot believe you're going to be a momma in 15 weeks already, sheesh - time flies! How exciting that your shower is coming up, and yay for a babymoon! I totally think you could rock that dress that you shared, too. And, I know that I'm not pregnant, but my skin has been out of control lately, so I'm totally going to check out that cream and serum that you mentioned.

  33. Yesss, isn't that moisturizer amazing? I didn't realize how good it was until my entire chin was peeling off and I used that and overnight it was like a miracle! So many small things to do to get ready for a baby that I would have never thought of-- I can't wait to hear where you guys choose for your babymoon!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Love doing monthly goal lists! I can't believe you're 15 weeks away! Did you decide on a babymoon location yet?! xo, Champagne&Suburbs

    ReplyDelete
  35. A babymoon sounds so fun! What destination is at the top of your list? Also, definitely splurge on the Macbook. It's so worth it!

  36. I asked my doctor about going to Mexico and before I could even get the sentence out of my mouth, she already said no because of the Zika virus. So we booked a long weekend in Pensacola instead! And the car seat struggle is real! We spent a good hour in Buy Buy Baby the other day contemplating between Britax and Chicco.
