Off Week Confessions

Image via

I confess that I'm having an off week.  And would like to go back to bed, please.

Nothing terrible has happened or anything, it's just one of those weeks and sometimes you gotta let it out, right?  I've been SO tired after the time change and the weather has been weird.  Rainy and windy and both warm and cold which leads to all the fun allergies.  I'm behind on all things blogging - email, posts, commenting.  And I took the glucose test yesterday which wasn't fun.  I had the orange drink and while it didn't go down too badly (just super syrupy!), I felt like crap within 5 minutes of finishing it.  So. Much. Sugar. = nauseous and dizzy, but it did ease up within a few hours, thankfully.  Now fingers crossed I passed.  Although with how this week is going, not getting my hopes up, ha!

I confess that I'm a little too obsessed with checking my baby registry now that the invites have gone out.  People have started purchasing things (like this is THE CUTEST THING EVER) and it makes me so excited!

I confess that I almost cried when I realized these shoes were back ordered until May.  It's been a hormonal week ;) But I had big plans to wear them to a couple baby/wedding showers I have in April (with this dress, if it fits!) and so it totally bummed me out.

I confess that a little part of me was hoping that Jojo wouldn't end up with Ben (even though she was my fave), just so she could be The Bachelorette.  And my wish came true!  Can't even wait for her season, I think it's going to be such a good one, if for nothing else than to drool over all of her amazing clothes.

I confess that (speaking of The Bachelor), I finished this book in about 3 days.  Full review coming soon!

I confess that I miss wearing real clothes.  My leggings have been on non-stop repeat since about November and I never thought I'd get sick of them, but I am.  I can't wait come July to rock something like this crop top and these shorts - is that mother appropriate wear? Haha

I confess that this recipe is the bomb and we've had it twice in the last week.  Delicious and easy which are my main two requirements for weeknight dinners.

I confess that overall, life is good.  I don't want to sound like a complainer at all - things are going really well.  I've been feeling great, this pregnancy is flying by, the nursery is coming together and the weather has been unusually warm.  Just sometimes it's nice to vent :)  Happy Friday eve, friends!

  1. Ugh I wish I could go back to bed... that'd be so nice! I've seen so many people with those Sam Edelman sandals, so cute! I think they were on Amazon too! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  2. Hey sometimes weeks just hit you and you have to "let it out" in order to feel better. I think DST has hit a lot of us hard. I saw a news article about how there's an increase in heart attacks etc (among older individuals) in the week after DST because it messes with your body so much. So, don't feel bad. Hopefully after this weekend you'll be feeling back to normal :)

  3. I'm pretty happy with the bachelorette choice too and I have to say I think Ben was a little shocked...maybe didn't see it coming, but he and Lauren are seriously sweet together!! Hope the rest of the week/weekend is great for you! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  4. I totally thought it was going to be Caila, and was so excited when they announced it was Jojo! my boyfriend was watching it with me and even gave me a high five haha. Off weeks happen, I think DST is a valid excuse!

  5. I obsessively check my registries, too! In fact, I just finished doing that before writing this comment :) I'm sorry you are in a funk! It must be something in the air because I've had a rough week too - so strange! But it's almost the weekend so we have that to look forward too at least!

  6. My week was off too, but I don't think it was DST related. Normally it hits me hard but this week it was just lots going on and getting things organized. I hope you feel better and can get some rest soon. Weeee for baby stuff, I love lil minion outfits.

  8. That is the least amount of venting from a pregnant girl ever! Being pregnant is hard, especially with time changes and allergies, it's crazy hard and your body is taking it all! And yes, totally appropriate mom wear (the perks of starting young, or what I always tell myself ;) )

  9. That glucose test is so awful! Thank goodness it's over and hoping for good results for you :) I was hoping that Jojo would be the next Bachelorette too! I wish that we didn't have to wait until May for it to start.

  14. Love those heels-- it's always so sad when something is backordered, but I bet you can find something else similar that you can hopefully get in time & maybe end up liking more? Almost the weekend-- so hopefully the week will turn around a little bit for the better :)

  15. I'm so so glad Jojo is the new bachelorette too, her style is just amazing! I've been off ever since the time change and it needs to change. I love the extra daylight were getting, but it threw me off. Yay about registries, I sent out my shower invites so I'll be stalking my registry as well :)!

  16. Ooooh I'd love to go back to bed! Sorry you're having such an off week, but yay for the glucose test being over. I feel like I'm still on the struggle bus from the time change, but I am loving the extra sunlight in the evenings <3

  18. Did not know that Emily wrote a book, I must go check it out!

I'm happy that JoJo is the bachelorette - when they first hinted at Caila, I wasn't too thrilled.

  19. So sorry you're having an off week! You're right - some weeks are just like that. I hope it gets better going into the weekend. :)

Hoping the glucose test results give you an all clear! I remember being really nervous about the test, but it worked out fine for me. I'm confident it'll be great for you too.

  20. You sound like the typical hormonal pregnant woman, and I love it!! It's such a crazy time of emotions. Your mama heart is already showing.

  22. I totally feel you on the "off" week- I am having one too, I won't lie! I think the time change messed up... plus coming back from vacation to the real-world is never fun ;) Hope you passed your glucose test- mine is next week! And YAY for baby shower invites going out and people buying stuff- SO exciting!!!

  23. Girl, you and me both! I think it's the darn time change! We don't even have a shower planned yet but I've been checking our registries to see if anything has been bought by family. Hope you have a great end of the week!

  24. I felt horrible even hours after I had my glucose test, but taking it wasn't that bad. I was very upset that he didn't pick Jojo...but yeah I'm also kinda glad we get the opportunity to see her as the bachelorette :)

  25. Ugh, I hate off weeks. Hopefully it gets better with the weekend coming up! And after we registered, hubby told me not to look so it would be more of a surprise...and surprisingly I followed "orders" hehe, although it was super hard!

  26. Hope the week turns around for you! The crop top is long enough for moms haha.. I agree about the leggings! So over them! Haha

  27. Totally understand how you are feeling! I am not looking forward to that glucose test again... blah! I am also missing normal clothes so much! I'm excited for warmer weather so I can at least wear a maxi dress or skirt of some sort instead of my maternity leggings or jeans!!

  28. Ahhh the time change- while I love it at night, I'm not down with it being so dark in the mornings. Totally overslept today! And I was going to get those shoes too but damn!

  29. So excited that Jojo is the next Bachelorette. She will be so fun! And girl. Go ahead and order those shoes if you haven't already! Sometimes Nordstrom quotes backorder dates and they end up coming a LOT earlier than expected. You may get lucky!

Also, rock that crop top. Totally mama appropriate. Full support on that:)

  30. I've felt kinda off this week too- blaming it on daylight savings, although I love how light it is at night! So so happy Jojo is the next Bachelorette!! Excited to read Emily's book xx

  31. It's like you read my mind - off week, yes! All week I've felt like we're just crawling to the weekend. All the Bachelor feelings - YES! When I read a last minute spoiler that Jojo would be the next Bachelorette, I was so happy! Emily's book - I think I read quicker than any book! The clothes!! I can only imagine, ha - I just said to Derek yesterday all these new clothes I'm getting for spring I hopefully won't be able to use next year - what will I wear! And he just laughed, ha!

  32. Sick of leggings-what?! Haha I was super excited once I finally could start wearing jeans again. Have a great weekend!

  33. I remember when I was getting married I always used to check our registry to see what we were getting! I'd probably do the same thing with a baby registry too. I am also VERY excited for JoJo to be the Bachelorette. Her wardrobe is going to be out of the world. Also read Emily's book in 3 days. I'm giving it away on the blog. My review went up on Wednesday.

  34. So sorry that you had an off week, friend! It definitely happens, though and the damn weather and time change did not help the cause at all. Um, that bear rocker might be the cutest thing I've ever seen. I'm so excited that you're getting it! And, yes for JoJo! I can't wait for her Bachelorette season to start. Hope your glucose results come back okay!

  35. I hope you passed the glucose test! I know that had to be awful!

  36. Oh no! I swear this week was the worst for all of us! I just wrote to Annie (Home of Malones) about the same thing! I don't know what it was; but, this week was so off! Girl, I totally relate to the so tired of leggings phase! I remember squeezing into my pre-pregnancy jeans as soon as I possibly could because I just couldn't wear those leggings another damn time! I hope you get some rest this weekend and get some fun reading in!
