Life Lately via the Camera Roll

Good morning!  Hope your week is off to a nice start.  It's supposed to be 75 and rainy here - could be worse, could be better ;)  Thankfully the weather was gorgeous all weekend again, we've really lucked out lately.  We had quite the productive last couple of days (all related to baby things of course) and it feels so good to get lot of to do's checked off.  The low of the weekend?  Dropping my practically full face cream on the floor and having it get aaaallll over our rug, the walls, in the vent... so that was fun.  Definitely an expensive oops, haha.

I'll let my camera roll do the rest of the talking!

{All of the trees are blooming here in town right now and they're so pretty.  We grabbed panini's for lunch downtown this weekend and enjoyed them outside in the sun.}

{Told you I've been all about the avocado toast lately!}

{Speaking of things I'm loving lately, this NARS eyeshadow primer is easily the best purchase I made during the recent Sephora sale.  I've been a long time devotee of this eyeshadow primer, but the NARS one truly blows it out of the water.  It's so much more long lasting and I love how easy the wand is to use.}

{We learned an insane amount of baby things in our 8 hour Baby Basics class on Saturday.  How to change a diaper (on a non-moving doll anyway ;)), bathe babies, feeding discussions and how to do infant CPR.  Also learned that baby powder is never to be used (what?!) and that the rock-n-play we were planning on having her sleep in at night isn't the best solution since they're supposed to be on their backs.  So now this thing is on it's way to us and I'm not that mad about it because it looks pretty awesome!}

{Despite his camera/poker face, this guy has been loving the warmer weather.  He's been outside as much as possible since he's much more trustworthy this year (not swallowing rocks anymore.. ahem).}

{I finally got a basket for our new fiddle leaf fig so I had to share with you guys!  I feel like it doesn't photograph as nice as it is in person, but we love it.  Definitely worth the money and adds that perfect pop of green to our living room.  And I can't kill it so that's a major bonus.}

Enjoy your Mondays!

  1. I'll have to check that eye shadow primer out - I haven't really had a need for it between the setting spray and the shadow sticks being long lasting...but that doesn't stop me from wanting to try it!! So to hear about your face moisturizer, that's always an annoying thing to happen!! Hope you have a great Monday! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  2. Looks like you guys are getting all kinds of prepared and ready to go for baby's arrival! I bet taking that class was overwhelming but also went a long way in making you feel better about everything. And what about baby powder? Really?

    1. It's a cancer causing product-some women hav gotten cancer from it.

      But for babies, it can be inhaled (even when putting it on a diaper area-clouded dust) which is good. Just paste for the butt.

  13. Yeah - even adults aren't supposed to use baby powder. It's been linked to a lot of weird things lately.

  14. They shouldn't even call it baby powder if you can't use it on babies right? Love this life update and glad to hear it is finally starting to warm up there!

  16. So glad that you're loving the NARS primer - it seriously is the best one that I've ever used. Glad that your baby class was informative and helpful - I can't even imagine the amount of information that you have to absorb at one of those. Happy Monday, lady!

  17. That avocado toast looks ah-mazing.

    We considered the Halo bassinet and I've heard good things about it! Our baby actually did sleep in the rock and play for the first three months of her life and it was perfect for us. Then we moved her to the pack and play in our room, where she still is. We'll probably be making the transition to her crib in her room soon now that she's six months old and I'm nervous. She naps well in there during the day so hopefully it'll be an easy move, but I'm sad to have her so far away in the house (a whole wall away ;-)).

    1. I'm already thinking about how far away her crib seems from us and she's not even here yet! I totally understand!

  18. psssh what? i know plenty of babies who slept in the rock n play.. on their backs. lol. they are just elevated. which in turn, apparently makes it super hard to transition them to a crib that is not elevated.. so probably good idea on the halo thingy. and um what baby powder?!

  19. All of your photos are gorg, but I need to know about two of those things: One. This tree. I have a BLACK thumb and kill all plants. Is this one really unkillable? Because if so, I need. Two. I have two (almost three) kids and no one has ever said anything about baby powder. Is it bad? Why? Tell me more!

  20. I'm sure you'll get plenty of baby advice in the coming weeks! But honestly, as soon as baby girl is here you will find your own groove and figure out what works best for you!

  21. So many rules with having kids! Sophie loves sleeping under blankets even though theyre not supposed to. She sleeps just like Kyle and I, feet have to be out (me), but blanket has to be over the head (Kyle) with the nose sticking out.

    And she never slept on her back no matter how many times we put her like that, she just rolled on to her stomach or her side.

    Also I know it's totally not part of the post. But where did you get that adorable mini entertainment center next to your plant :)

  23. I keep seeing avocado toast everywhere and it makes me giggle because I seriously grew up eating it. Avocado on whole wheat toast with a sprinkle of kosher salt was the go to snack in my home. Easy, versatile and relatively healthy. Om nom nom.

    Your dog is aboslutely beautiful. Oh man. I've wanted a golden for so long.
