Friday Things

Happy Friday and happy unofficial start to summer!

It totally feels like summer has already arrived here in Michigan.  It's been about 85 degrees all week and I am loving it.  Although getting dressed has been a bit challenging as it usually isn't super warm like this before June, so I have literally one dress that I'm rocking almost every day!  Luckily it's a cute one ;) We've had a busy week and I'm hoping this weekend will be equal parts productive and relaxing.  Today I'm off for a cut and color (fresh highlights for summer yay!) and hitting up the food trucks downtown for lunch.

+ Now that the warmer temps have arrived, I'm breaking out two of my favorite things.  One, this candle.  Love love love.  It's my summer scent!  Second is a more recent favorite.  I've become obsessed with this tanning lotion.  I picked it up on a whim at Ulta before our babymoon and have been super impressed.  I used it a loooong time ago and couldn't get past the smell, but it's so much better now.  Don't forget to use a good body scrub beforehand (I'm loving this one) to ensure the color goes on evenly!

+ I ordered this quatrefoil mirror for the nursery and fingers crossed it's the finishing piece.  Adorable and it's on sale right now, too.  I cannot WAIT to share the nursery here on the blog.  I'm so in love with it.  Brady and I just sit in there and hang out, it's easily the best room in the house.

+ Speaking of our house, I've been on a curtain hanging kick.  We have these curtains hung in a bunch of different rooms and I think they're the best.  Dirt cheap, but they're still super great quality and look really nice (especially if you steam the wrinkles out of them).  Highly recommend!

+ If you need a delicious meal for this weekend, I've got ya covered.  Check it out here, but be prepared to drool all over your keyboard.

+ Time for some TV talk: what did you guys think of The Bachelorette premiere?  I give it two thumbs up and I'm way too excited about all the drama to come this season.  Jojo looked flawless and I kind of love Jordan, I hope he doesn't turn out to be a you know what.  (PS. funniest Bachelor/ette recaps found here).  And then there was the series finale of Nashville... not that impressed.  I used to LOVE this show, but it's really gone downhill the past couple of seasons and I wasn't too sad to say goodbye.  I thought the ending cliffhanger was dumb though, why can't shows just wrap everything up nicely?

+ Two trends I'm all about right now: anything yellow and off the shoulder.  I'd like this dress (the price, get it now!!) and this top will be mine.

+ I'm sure you've heard... but Nordstrom is having it's half yearly sale ;)  There are so many amazing sales happening this weekend that I plan on taking advantage of.  I feel like I'm close enough to post baby that I can shop for myself and not feel bad about it!  I have a post coming sometime this weekend with my favorites.

Enjoy your nice, long weekends!!

  2. Ugh, I'm so depressed over the ending of Nashville. I agree, the plot isn't as good as it used to be, but I'm still attached to the characters. I feel like Nashville and Grey are similar in the way that, Grey's started going down hill for a bit there too before they basically brought in an entirely new cast and re-vamped the show around the new characters. Maybe Nashville needs a hail mary like that one, lol. I was excited over the Bachelorette premier as well! Jordan seems so perfect, but so did Olivia on night one too. Did you hear the guys make a reference about how she got left on the beach- so sad lol. I'm so excited to see your nursery!

  3. WOOHOO lake weather. I'm about to do some lake living for awhile and am excited the weather is finally nice. Super excited to see your nursery, I know it's going to be fabulous!

Ugh, we've already talked about the Good Wife, what a horrible ending and now Nashville too, wah. I had high hopes for both but they just failed miserably. Boo tv life haha.

    Happy Friday!

  4. I haven't seen the Nashville ending yet, but I'm not expecting much. The shows have been kinda blah and feel very forced. I wonder if they didn't wrap things up well because they weren't planning on getting canceled this year? (Just a guess, since I haven't seen it).
Enjoy your weather and outside time this weekend!!

  6. Oh gosh - I'd marry Jordan right now myself :) He's a cutie!
I heard that they had that ending on Nashville because they are trying to sell it out to another station. But you're right, its really gotten cheesy lately. The whole Will/gay thing - come on. People aren't that ignorant anymore to ban an artist because their gay. Some of the things were just stupid on there this season.

  8. That mirror you got for the nursery is perfect!! I'm definitely checking out that tanning lotion. I put some other brand on last night and I definitely smell like it now! Ugh. haha. I just watched Nashville last night and I heard that they might get a next season after all. I agree it's gone downhill this season, but I loved the Gunner and Scarlet storyline!

  9. I love that mirror you got for the nursery!! It's perfect! I use to love Nashville but the last few seasons have been meh. I wasn't a fan of how it ended, they totally should have just wrapped it up. Although, I do hear it may go to another network and that is why they ended it like that. Who knows. Have a wonderful weekend.

  10. That mirror is gorgeous, can't wait to see it all come together! And I hear ya on the Nashville ending, that last scene made me say WHAT THE?! I read that they're hoping to be picked up by another network which is why they ended with a cliffhanger. Happy Memorial Day Weekend gurlie, can't wait to see the new hair <3

  17. I loved the Bachelorette this week! Easily one of my favorites in a long time. I stopped watching Nashville after Rayna and Deacon's wedding because I thought it was getting too boring - I heard the finale's cliffhanger was kind of dumb, too! Cannot wait to see the nursery, have a wonderful weekend!

  18. I think I'm the ONLY person that doesn't watch The Bachelor (ette) - that may need to change ;) Love the mirror you ordered too! Hope you have a great weekend! xoxo
