Netflix, Here I Come

It's no secret how much I love my Netflix.  Binge watching TV shows is one of the best ways to wind down after a long day and relax a little bit before bed.  We finished Lost a couple of months ago and haven't really had anything to watch since then... which has been okay because we've been getting ready for the baby, but now that I'm about to be spending a lot of time at home on the couch with said baby, I've got to find a good show to get into!

I set off to Google - which never lets me down - when I came across the perfect list:  The 20 Best Shows for New Moms to Binge Watch.  Yes!  Just what I need.  According to the article, here are their recommendations (bold are the ones that I've already watched):

1. Gilmore Girls
2. Parenthood
3. The Mindy Project
4. Nashville
5. New Girl
6. Orange Is The New Black
7. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
8. Weeds
9. The Office
10. The White Queen
11. Game of Thrones
12. Doctor Who
13. Once Upon A Time
14. Friends
15. Portlandia
16. Futurama
17. 3rd Rock From The Sun
18. 30 Rock
19. Modern Family
20. Buffy The Vampire Slayer

A few honorable mentions that I l-o-v-e that were left off of this list: Scandal, Bloodline, The Good Wife, Army Wives, Desperate Housewives, Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Mad Men, Friday Night Lights (so so good).  I might watch too much TV...

I wish I hadn't already seen Parenthood because that show is THE BEST.  Every episode made me cry (in a good way!) and I can only imagine how much of a mess it would be make with hormones added in there, but I'm really considering re-watching it.  Cuddled up in my favorite robe, a candle burning and these cinnamon sugar chips that I'm obsessed with right now... perfection.

So, which show - and it doesn't have to be from this list!- would you guys recommend?

  2. Yes, so many of my favorites too...Gilmore Girls, Army Wives (I shed some real tears throughout those seasons!), Nashville, Once Upon A Time. So many good ones have ended. I'm still praying Nashville returns for another season. It's been awhile since I've caught up on Once Upon A Time, but I love the storyline. It's so fun.

And if you haven't watched The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, you will love it. It's a great, lighthearted option - perfect for those nights when you're up for a feeding with the bebe:)

  15. I think I cried at every Parenthood episode, too, so I really can't imagine how emotional I would be with post-pregnancy hormones! That really is a great list - Once Upon a Time is one of my favorite shows ever, so of course I'm going to recommend that one!

  24. Agreed, Parenthood is definitely my favorite show of all time next to Friends. I sobbed like a baby at almost each episode and totally felt like a part of the family. A re-watching of the show may or may not be on my list of things to do now (spoiler alert: it totally may)!

  25. This is such a good list! I binge watched Dawson's Creek, the Office, and Gossip Girl with my babies, I couldn't handle anything with too many feelings and emotions because I was so emotional.

  26. Oh my gosh, Mindy Project (Hulu) and New Girl are the BOMB! So funny, and they are only like 20 min episodes without commercials. If you want another good funny comedy check out Grace and Frankie. My husband loves it too :)

  27. This is the perfect list!!! Totally saving this list to watch during the multiple feedings that will happen in the next few months!

  28. New Girl should be your next show!!! Once Upon a Time is good too!

  29. Parenthood is definitely one of my favorites but I'm not sure I could handle it with all the emotions of being pregnant and just having a baby! I'm on Dawson's Creek (Hulu) right now, though.

  30. Parenthood is the BEST. I also cried every single episode. My other two favorites not on this list but completely available on Netflix are How I Met Your Mother and Parks & Recreation.

  31. Netflix binges are my favorite! This is a great list. I've watched several of them but still have a long way to go!

  32. I've been watching New Girl for a couple months now and I've never watched a show that puts me in such a good mood. When I was sick for a week, I binge watched it and I would always feel so much better afterwords. It's a light-hearted show that always keeps me laughing. As for recommendations, I recommend Jane the Virgin. Season 2 just went up on Netflix!

  33. Late to the party here, as I just stumbled upon your blog recently... but I can vouch for The Mindy Project (so quirky and funny, with some really sweet moments), New Girl (hilarious and light), and Once Upon a Time (I'm almost done season 2, and loving it so far! Fairy tales all grown up and woven together. Warms my Disney-loving heart!). :)
