The title of this post may be a bit of wishful thinking... at 39 weeks and 4 days (with zero signs of labor approaching), I'm starting to have a feeling that this baby is going to be late. Thursday is quickly approaching! But either way, we pretended this was our last weekend and made it a good one.
Friday kicked off with a date night to an Italian restaurant we've been wanting to try. It was a super cute, authentic looking place right on a little lake outside of town so it had everything going for it... but the food was only just okay. I had pizza and Nick had an olive oil based sausage pasta and the portions were HUGE. I ordered a small pizza and that picture below is like 1/8th of it, I couldn't believe it. Yay for leftovers!
We were up bright and early on Saturday morning for our neighborhood garage sale. I literally decided like two days before that I was going to participate and have my own (just trying to stay busy...) and so me and my little buddy got all set up at 8am. We sold a few things, but didn't make any big bucks. It was just nice to get rid of so much of the stuff that I've purged from my house during this nesting phase. I'm telling you, 'nesting' has been awesome. I really feel like my house is free of junk and clutter and I LOVE it.
Saturday was so freakin' hot. 90 degrees and humid hot and while I'm normally all about that, I can't handle it while pregnant. I give serious props to you ladies that are pregnant through the entire summer - especially if you live in the South - because I really don't know if I could do it haha! I lasted outside at my sale until lunch time and then it was back in the AC for naps and a Real Housewives of New York binge watch.
Later that night, we met up with friends for a little pre-birthday, pre-baby (I keep forgetting it's also my birthday coming up on Thursday!) dinner. Good food, good company and live music made for a fun night. Afterwards we took Brady for a long walk since it finally cooled off (he's a baby in the heat, too) and then visited with our next door neighbors for a little bit.
And on Sunday, this happened! We wallpapered our half-bathroom! And when I say we, I mean Nick, but I was a really good supervisor ;) It looks so awesome, I'm in love with it. Unfortunately we completely measured wrong how much paper we need, so the bathroom is 3/4 of the way done and we had to order more, but it looks SO GOOD. We used this wallpaper from Sherwin Williams and it was a decently easy project!
We wrapped up the weekend with chicken on the grill and a couple episodes of Bloodline (stolen from my snapchat @kavanderploeg). I wasn't so sure how season 2 was going to be, but so far so good. We're hooked again. And of course walks around the neighborhood and maybe even freshly cut pineapple - we're hooked on that, too. Anything to try and get this process started!
