Five Good Things

Long time, no blog!  We've been busy busy busy over here - all good stuff though...

ONE
We had our first night out since Hadley was born!  Nick and I went to see Chris Stapleton in concert and he was AMAZING.  I swear he sounds even better live than on the radio if that's possible.  It was a beautiful night and great to just get out together and relax for the first time in a long time.  We left Hadley with our friends and she was in great hands!  Aaaand I didn't cry when I left her (which I was expecting to) so the night was a major success!

TWO
Two awesome collaborations happening right now -- Beauty Counter for Target and J. Crew for Nordstrom.  I'm so excited about both and already picked up a few things.  From Target: the purifying charcoal mask, nourishing eye cream, and the rosewater mist.  From Nordstrom: so far just this ruffle top, but you know I love a good blazer and I'm majorly crushing on the regent one (how fun is it in pink?).

THREE
Best sound in the world?  Your baby laughing.  Hadley did it for the first time on Saturday evening and it was seriously the cutest thing ever.  She likes to put her feet down and 'stand' while we hold her now and it brought out a little chuckle is probably the best way to describe it haha.  I've been trying to get her to do it again, but so far no luck!

FOUR
Speaking of Hadley... girlfriend got her first pair of shoes!  Now that the weather is starting to cool off, I can't let her go barefoot everywhere so I bought a pair of Freshly Picked moccasins.  Can't wait for them to get here.

FIVE
I am student loan FREE as of last week!!  Such a great feeling.  We've been working hard at getting rid of our loans over the last couple of years and have been fortunate enough to make some great progress.  We just have one of Nick's left and then other than our mortgage, will be completely debt free.  It's been totally worth throwing all of our money at them over these past few years.

Tell me something good that's going on with you!

  2. Concerts are always fun. Jesse and I are going to an I heart the 90's concert tonight. I think it's pretty cool that will be Rory's first concert (in the womb).

Baby laughs are seriously addicting. The 6 month anniversary of my nephew's passing is coming up this month and my step sister has been posting videos and pictures everyday of him and his twin. His laugh could brighten any horrible day and fill the room with joy.

I have saved sooo many baby moccasins I want to buy for Rory but I'm going to wait until after my baby shower next Sunday to buy any. I keep telling myself I'm not going to buy anymore baby stuff (especially clothes) until after my shower yet I still find myself making purchases. It is so hard especially when you're having a girl! My mom and step dad can't control their clothes shopping for her either.

Congrats on being student loan free! Paying off loans or credit cards is seriously the best feeling ever. I'll have two cards paid off after this month and I'm ecstatic.

One good thing: the milder temperatures in Maryland. Such a sweet relief from all the hot and humid days. Looking foward to fall :)
