So Long, Sweet Summer

Goodbye, summer 2016.  I can't even believe it's September 6th!  Today was the first day of school for our area and it was crazy to hear the busses rolling through the neighborhood this morning.  It's really over.

We had a great weekend!  It started off not so great though - with Hadley's 2 month well child visit which included the dreaded shots :( So heartbreaking.  She was a champ though and I cried longer than she did, ha!  Everything else about her appointment went perfectly and we have one healthy, happy girl.

We spent the rest of our Friday evening grabbing a bite to eat and then heading home because the shots were catching up to Hadley and she was getting a bit fussy.  She never had a fever, but was SUPER tired and not interested in eating - for the first time ever!  Lots of cuddles were on the weekend agenda.  This picture makes me laugh - I think the flash surprised her.

We had a little photo shoot on Saturday since I finally had some updated stats from her doctors appointment.  At 10 weeks old, she weighs 10 pounds 8 ounces (21st percentile) and 23.5 inches long (87th percentile).  Long and lean!  And isn't this chalkboard adorable?  My friends mom made it as a surprise for my baby shower and I l-o-v-e it.  I told her that she needs to open an Etsy shop and sell them because they are so cute!

Sunday was spent making our first road trip with the baby.  We headed over to the east side of the state for a fish fry with Nick's family.  Hadley did great and slept the entire way there & back thankfully!  At the fish fry was a different story.  She was pretty fussy from her shots still and had a bit of stranger danger going on, ha.  But it was a beautiful day and nice for the family to be able to meet her.

And of course, we had to stop and take a picture with the Hadley Road sign we came across!

Monday was spent catching up on chores and getting ready for the week ahead - nothing too exciting, but unfortunately necessary.   One thing I didn't partake in this weekend?  College football.  I usually LOVE football and fall in general, but I have real anxiety about it this year.  I spent last October & November pregnant and feeling awful, and it's just totally what I associate fall with now - it's so sad.  I almost cried at the grocery store when I saw pumpkins were out because it makes my stomach flip and I want to throw up!  I'm hoping this passes soon and I can get back to enjoying one of the best seasons of the year.  I'm crazy.
Hope your week is off to a great start!  Love that it's already Tuesday - that much closer to the next weekend! :)

  7. Shots are the worst! I hate to tell you this, but I think they get worse as they get older and realize what's going on more. It's heartbreaking! Hope she's feeling better and I hope you get over your fall aversions! Sounds awful. :(

  11. How adorable is your long and lean little girl! And love how much she has her eyes open now, and lol at 0 teeth and I love to squirm - too cute! Glad she was a champ about her shots, and hope your aversions pass quickly. I felt the most sick in February and March, so those months will probably be rough for me too mentally. I'm sure it'll pass and you'll enjoy all your favorites soon <3

I cry when my dog has to get shots, I cant even imagine the baby!!! Sounds like you guys had a good weekend minus a little fussiness. I am ready for it to start cooling down!

  20. Oh my goodness I can not believe you cried over pumpkins. I equally want to laugh at you and feel so sorry for you, because that is exactly how I felt about our vacation spot in Florida!! I was sooo miserably (early) pregnant on the trip that even sitting on the beach watching the waves made me sick. Hads is a growing machine! Way to go mama!! Shots are THE WORST. Cam was so miserable and wanted to nurse the entire rest of the day. So sad.

That's so funny you have post traumatic stress from seeing pumpkins lol! I know the feeling... I think the Christmas stuff will get me. That's when I was the worst while pregnant!
