Five Things

Are we ready for the weekend? HECK YES. And with temps in the 70's here in Michigan today, it's off to a great start.

1 | Mr. Shaggy, as we've been loving calling him, went to the groomer on Thursday and it was WAY over needed. Hence the name ;) How handsome does he look? More like how annoyed can he possibly be of me taking his picture...

2 | Hadley is officially over the pureed baby food and into real food! Which I'm pretty happy about, it's so nice being able to feed her what Nick and I are eating. I made this ramen veggie soup that we love last night - and guess what! She loved it, too!

3 | I've been practicing using my camera on manual mode a LOT this week. I'm definitely a work in progress, but I've made it my official goal for this summer to learn my camera inside and out. And then probably upgrade to one of these, because I'm hearing that lenses make all the difference in the world. I've found Amanda's photography tutorials super helpful, anyone have any others I should check out?

4 | During Nordstrom's mega-beauty sale last week, I picked up this bad boy (in nude) finally. It provides the perfect amount of glow over my matte foundation, while still looking natural.

5 | Speaking of being on sale, I also snagged this Rifle Co. phone case and cannot wait for it to get here. It's so gorgeous and so perfectly springy!

Okay and maybe a sixth thing today since it's been so long that I've done one of these posts... I'm so glad some of you picked up the music toy from earlier this week! I promise it won't disappoint. Hadley has been independently playing with it for going on twenty minutes now - which has allowed me to eat lunch in peace and start this post. Oh yes, totally worth that money! And I'm off to go play with her - HAPPY FRIDAY!

  2. You can 100% tell you have been working on your photography, and I mean that in the best way possible! You are rockin it! Isn't real food life changing? So convenient but also scary because choking and allergies freak me right out. Hope you guys have a wonderful WARM weekend!

And yay for manual mode on the camera, we keep playing around with our new camera too. It's fun, but can be super overwhelming! Happy Friday gurlie <3

  8. I'm on the same boat with my camera. My biggest issue seems to be white balance... my pics are either yellowish or purple. But, I've told myself I can only shoot manual, even if my pictures are weird tints for now. Otherwise I'm never going to learn.

Paula from Thirteen Thoughts has a ton about blog photography. I love her style too!

  9. I love all of Amanda's photography posts and I swear one day I am going to sit down and learn how to take better pictures!!! Love the one you shot of your BB stuff, which is gorgeous! I will have to check out that music set for Zoe. I am sure that is something she would enjoy here soon. You have me craving Ramen now. Hope you have a great weekend!

  14. I love my Canon Rebel! And yes, lenses make a huge difference. I really like the momtog online photography class, but honestly, just using it in manual is what will teach you the most. I say upgrade now and start learning on a new camera that you will use for awhile!

  16. The sheer disdain on BradyB's face is astonishing. He really should appreciate a spa day. Check out The Wandering Lens... there's some great photography tutorials on there, too! DrewB photo has a great course for mamas!
