The fun started back on Thursday when we took a trip to the vet for Brady who has a double ear infection. I freaking HATE taking him to the vet during the week with the baby - let me just paint a picture of that for you. Me holding on to my 16 pound (ish?) baby while I've got an 85 pound dog that is OMG I'M OUT OF THE HOUSE, NEW PEOPLE EVERYWHERE, THIS IS SO EXCITING straining on the leash. And then I've got the diaper bag and I'm trying to not let Brady mount people while I'm trying to pay and the baby is whining to get out of my arms because she wants to pet all the dogs (which is the sweetest). And just when we leave and I think we're home free, Brady decides he actually does not want to go home and lays his body down in the parking lot and refuses to move. (It's also raining out). I was literally trying all the bribes in the book- peanut butter, treats, squirrels- but no budging from him, he would.not.move. It finally required an older man coming out of the vet laughing his head off saying he's never seen anything like that! to help me get the dog up and into the car. No kidding. It was quite an experience, but looking back now (that I'm home and dry), it's kind of hilarious.
Thankfully the rest of the weekend was quite low key! So low key that I didn't put on makeup ONCE. We got pizza on Friday night and I was so super happy when I realized that season 3 of Grace & Frankie was on Netflix. That show saved me right after Hadley was born and I was experiencing all the emotions because it is the funniest thing ever.
Saturday was a beautiful day. After we went to the gym, Nick spent it outside cleaning up sticks and who knows what else, while we so kindly supervised and made him take pictures of us. That night we went over to our friends house - that have an almost 4 year old and six week old little girls - for burgers on the grill. Saturday nights look so different now with dinner at 5pm and bedtimes at 8pm, but I literally would not have them any other way.
And on Sunday, I was weirdly productive. Cleaned the entire house, meal planned and made my grocery list for the week, broke in our new JOGGING STROLLER on a run in the neighborhood, and took Hadley to Nick's hockey game. She loved it and I have a feeling there will be lots more of those in our future.
I've got a clean house, fresh sheets, and a stocked fridge - bring it on Monday!
