Five Things

Are we ready for the weekend? HECK YES. And with temps in the 70's here in Michigan today, it's off to a great start.

1 | Mr. Shaggy, as we've been loving calling him, went to the groomer on Thursday and it was WAY over needed. Hence the name ;) How handsome does he look? More like how annoyed can he possibly be of me taking his picture...

2 | Hadley is officially over the pureed baby food and into real food! Which I'm pretty happy about, it's so nice being able to feed her what Nick and I are eating. I made this ramen veggie soup that we love last night - and guess what! She loved it, too!

3 | I've been practicing using my camera on manual mode a LOT this week. I'm definitely a work in progress, but I've made it my official goal for this summer to learn my camera inside and out. And then probably upgrade to one of these, because I'm hearing that lenses make all the difference in the world. I've found Amanda's photography tutorials super helpful, anyone have any others I should check out?

4 | During Nordstrom's mega-beauty sale last week, I picked up this bad boy (in nude) finally. It provides the perfect amount of glow over my matte foundation, while still looking natural.

5 | Speaking of being on sale, I also snagged this Rifle Co. phone case and cannot wait for it to get here. It's so gorgeous and so perfectly springy!

Okay and maybe a sixth thing today since it's been so long that I've done one of these posts... I'm so glad some of you picked up the music toy from earlier this week! I promise it won't disappoint. Hadley has been independently playing with it for going on twenty minutes now - which has allowed me to eat lunch in peace and start this post. Oh yes, totally worth that money! And I'm off to go play with her - HAPPY FRIDAY!

Baby Approved

A couple of weeks ago, Hadley and I and a couple of our friends started taking music classes. It's an hour every Tuesday of us moms singing (making up words) and dancing (looking ridiculous), while the babies bang on the floor and attempt to crawl away from us. Good fun!

No, but it really is fun. The babes love it and smile and laugh through the whole thing. And it's great to have a regular activity that forces us to get out of the house for reasons other than going to Target. Plus, music classes are said to be great for development and I'm all about that.

Hadley's favorite part of the class is the very end, when they drag out the big box of instruments and she gets to repeatedly whack the floor with things. So when we were at Target (I know) and I came across this music set, I HAD to get it for her. We love B. toys in this house (the keys are also a big hit) and it is seriously such a great price. It's basically six different musical toys for the price of $21.99. We've only had it a few days, but so far it's been money well spent...

...when she's not busy lounging around under her jumper anyway. No idea why she likes to hang out under there?!

The music set is also mom approved because this is how it cleans up. Amen. It can be put away nicely and I LOVE that.

Lately

Hey friends!

I've missed you all. I didn't mean to disappear for a couple weeks - I think this might be the first time I've stayed away this long for no real reason. We've just been busy bees... vacations, starting music classes, reading, friends visiting, finding the perfect maxi dress EVER. You know, checking off those important to-do's (because apparently summer is coming, despite the crazy snow Michigan has been getting for mid March).

And then unfortunately the not so fun stuff, too... Hadley getting in four painful teeth, me trying to kick these sinus problems once and for all, Brady throwing up socks, and Nick... having to go to work. Work is lame.

Now for what we're all here for. Cute baby and puppy pictures-

This girl is all over the place, all day long and I can barely keep up. She LOVES to explore and touch everything and put everything in her mouth and pull up on all the things. She wears me out - I've been ready for bed at about 4pm every day. (Don't worry, we have a real gate up there now!)

Because everyone needs a new pink lip gloss for spring! And I need a new manicure... But this one is Pink Smooch and I love it. It's the perfect pop of pink and the price is right. I think these are new by Baby Lips and I want every color.

Packing with a baby around, omg. Not for the faint of heart. As long as she wasn't climbing anything (she tries to scale the wire towel racks in our bathroom and it about gives me a heart attack) or swallowing anything, I literally just had to let her do her thing so I could get finish getting us ready to go the day we left for Park City. And do you know how long this roll of toilet paper kept her busy for? Like forever. Way longer than any actual toy - of course.

So Park City! This probably deserves its own post but #lazy. We had a good time, but my trip was kind of majorly brought down by sickness. I've been battling some sinus stuff since January and I think combined with the altitude, it was just no good. I felt terrible. I skied one morning and ended up in the urgent care for a breathing treatment and like 5 different antibiotic prescriptions. Dramatic, right?

We did have fun with our friends and it was good to get away for a little bit, but I just really wish I would have felt better. Such a bummer to spend most of a vaca in bed. I guess that just means we'll have to head back sometime (because I still need to get together with Laura!).

One of my fellow blog buddies is opening up a new BOW SHOP and I'm so excited for her! The Brave Bow Co is awesome. The bows are gorgeous and well made, but best of all, I love their heart for the community. For every bow purchased, a donation will be made to NICU's and pediatric cancer patients in childrens hospitals around the world. Their grand opening is March 31st so make sure to check them out!

Friends of ours that live in Chicago are getting married in Michigan this summer, so they were here wedding planning over the weekend. We got to watch their dog (!!) and it was so fun. Although I almost forgot how much work puppies are, but dang they're cute. Brady was in heaven with a buddy to chase around and I was in heaven since our friends paid us in Garrett's popcorn. My fave way to be paid.

First time riding in the cart! I don't know what took me so long to try this, but it's a game changer. So much more room for all the things. And a few seconds after this picture she tried to chew on the metal cart so this guy was promptly ordered.

Alright, well I'm off to finish making dinner. We're having this and my house smells amazing!

Shopbop Sale All Under $100

You know spring is coming when the Shopbop sale goes live!

This is a great time to stock up on some warm weather goodies. We have fiiiive weddings this summer - along with bridal showers and bachelorette parties - so this mom was in need of a few new things. Shopbop is a more expensive site to shop, but there are still a lot of amazing finds under $100...

Okay, can we just start right smack dab in the middle? If you look at one thing in this sale, THIS MAXI DRESS. How gorgeous is this? I have a similar one (that I actually got from Shopbop as well a couple of years ago), but if I didn't, I'd scoop this bad boy up without a second thought.

What did I get? These fun tassel earrings, these flowy black shorts, this off the shoulder tie blouse, this gorgeous floral dress, and utility shirtdress. All versatile pieces that I can mix and match and get a lot of wear out of.

A couple of pieces that I already own that you've seen on the blog are included in the sale. This dress I wore to a wedding in the fall (shop here) and one of my all time favorite dresses, my baby shower dress (shop here). Speaking of showers, if you're a bride, get this dress! It's fabulous - and maybe only $1 over the $100 price point ;)

And now we're off to Park City for our ski trip, be sure to follow along on Instagram! Have a great rest of the week!
